Starlin sat cross-legged on the bench.

People ran past her, yelling into phones and screaming at the top of their lungs.

"Don't steal things, you twit!", She snapped.

"Oh c'mon, it's a fifty dollar bill on the ground in the middle of chaos!", Lance complained, "I'm not leaving Earth without a month's worth of pudding!"

Starlin rolled her eyes.

"I don't like this, Starlin."

"Calm down Sopheline", Starlin answered out loud.
"Just scare people. That's all you have to do."

She watched a family run by.

Something struck a nerve within her.

A mother and a son. The father was close behind them.

His eyes were shining. Not in a good way, either.

It was a look Starlin knew all too well.

Lance looked back at his girlfriend, but she was already lost in the crowd, hunting down that family she saw.

Delilah didn't like the handcuffs that were clasped to her hands. She couldn't use her gift.

Tears started to stream down her face.

Maybe she got her hopes up too far.

The sight of her brother was a dream too far away...

Lizmira analyzed the children in the taxi with her.

Ferin was just going to steal their gifts from them. After that he was going to kill them.

What would be the point of a useless child?

Actually, she thought, maybe I could sell them. I know good traffickers that would pay a pretty price for their head.
