I wake up. Its eight in the morning. I look at my window. Jack's there, his hood pulled up and feet dangling down. "Good morning," he says. I try and sit up but Jack quickly flies over. "Don't try and move. It might make it worse." I look at my arms. The sand has moved farther away from my wrists.

"Another snow day?" I ask. He smiles. "It is my job to bring joy," he says.

"When did Sandy leave?" He lays down beside me.

"Right after you went to sleep."

I nod. "Is he coming back? I did hurt him,"

He nods. "You didn't hurt him. He's fine. North was fine a little after. Sandy will be coming by every night to make sure you have enough sand to keep nightmares away."

"Okay. Is my mom at work?"

"Yes, she left about an hour ago. She thinks you're sick."

"I am sick," I whisper.

"You'll get better. I promise." He kisses me and touches his forehead to mine.
