~~💀~~

Silence.

It was pure bliss.

Reaper sat alone in the shelter of a rather large tree. It sat upon a small hill outside of a nearby town. The faint bustle of the villagers which lived there could be heard in the soft distance. The god heaved a slow and heavy sigh.

"BROTHER? WHY IS IT THAT I ALWAYS FIND YOU HERE WHEN YOU'RE UPSET?"

The god turned to his brother, smiling lazily. "It's quiet here. No pressure to reap souls, no screams of pain, no fearful and disgusted expressions. It's paradise, bro."

The other stared at him, thinking for a moment. Then, he joined his brother under the tree. "I WONDER...WHY DOESN'T THIS TREE DIE LIKE THE OTHERS?"

The shorter opened one eye-socket, staring up at the tree's luscious leaves. "Huh...I dunno."

"HMM...MAYBE IT'S SPECIAL!" The taller chirped, grazing his fingers against it.

"You really think so?"

"YES!"

"Heh...Special, huh." Reaper mumbled, staring at the tree's smooth bark.

It wasn't just the tree. The whole hill didn't shrivel from the god's mere presence. It was odd, but he didn't bother to question it too much. A soft and gentle breeze blew past Reaper, making his cloak wave in the wind. The grass swayed with the small gust of air, rustling quietly.

Everything was so peaceful.

Until a loud THUD interrupted the calm atmosphere.

Reaper cracked open an eye-socket. A small curse could be heard. "Uh...?" Reaper had blanked.

A head poked into his view. "I thought you'd be somewhere else." Geno said bluntly, trudging up the hill.

"Where exactly?"

"I don't know,  big scary cave or something?"

Reaper didn't smile at his comment. He just stared at Geno.
"...Huh. No snarky remark? No smile?...I guess I should have expected that response." The skeleton stood before Reaper.
"May I?" Geno asked, motioning to the spot next to the god. Reaper nodded slightly, letting Geno plop himself next to him. The scarfed other was holding a medium-sized box with his bony fingers, letting it rest on his lap.
"...Soooo..."
Reaper glanced over at Geno, his eyes dull and empty.
"What was he like?"

The god simply turned away from Geno and stared at the ground. Small ants hurried by, some carrying rather large leaves.
"Perfect." Reaper simply replied.

"Ah. He always is." Geno shifted a little, smiling. "Sure, he had his faults and his hatred of puns, but he still had his charming personality..."

"Yeah..."

"...So, I thought that you might want this...just to keep for a little while." Geno carefully unwrapped his scarf and delicately secured it around Reaper's neck. The god turned to him, raising an 'eyebrow'.
"This is my most precious possession. Please keep it safe." Geno sighed, not used to having his scarf off. Reaper quietly ran his fingers through the fabric, the soft texture appealing to him. "And...I thought you would like this."

The skeleton lifted the box off of his lap and handed it to Reaper. It was warm. Curious, Reaper slowly opened the box. Inside was a decent plate of spaghetti.
"I know it isn't as good as his, but-"

Reaper wrapped an arm around Geno, pulling him closer to himself. "...Thank you."

Geno's smile widened. "Your welcome."

Reaper took in a deep breathe, slowly exhaling afterwards. "But I got to admit, that little speech you told me was really sappy." Reaper chuckled.

"Oh my god, GOD DAMN IT! WE WERE HAVING A NICE MOMENT TOGETHER." Geno roared as

Reaper started laughing. "I guess you can say I KILLED the mood?"

"SHUT UP AND EAT YOUR FOOD, YOU IDIOT!"

Both of them were a laughing messes.

"Okay, Okay." Reaper reached into the box, bringing out the steaming plate of spaghetti. He took out the fork that was also inside and dug it into the dish. However, he didn't eat.

"Well? Are you going to eat or what???" Geno grumbled impatiently.

" You must be exhausted, checking out all of the 'spooky caves' around here."

"WHERE ELSE WAS I SUPPOSED TO LOOK???"

Reaper shrugged, smiling happily. "Anyways, you must be tired, yes?"
Geno stared at him for a few seconds before nodding slowly.

"Here." Reaper handed Geno the plate.

"What? This was meant for you!"

"I know." Reaper summoned his own fork, placing it on the dish as well. "We can share." Geno looked from the plate to Reaper and back again.
"...You DO know what SHARING is, don't you?"

"OF COURSE I KNOW WHAT SHARING IS, DAMN IT!" Geno hissed, punching Reaper on the shoulder softly.

Reaper pretended to wince. "Geno, you hit hard!" He joked.

"Oh shut up before I shove this down your throat myself!" Geno threatened, which made Reaper start eating.

The two shared their plate of spaghetti under the tree, casually talking to each other while doing so.
Soon, the plate was empty and their non-existent stomachs were full. Geno was given his scarf back and the sun began to set.

"I have a question." Reaper stated, turning to his friend.

"Hm?"

"Why did you do all of this for me?"

Geno's face dusted a slight blue. "Beeecause I thought my best friend could use some cheering up."

"Oh." Reaper sounded disappointed.

"What's with that tone?"

"Well, I thought I was something more to you."

Geno cocked an 'eyebrow' at him. "What else would I think? I thought you can't go beyond best friendship."

Reaper took another breathe of air. He softly pulled Geno closer to him. Reaper grabbed the other's chin as he leaned forward. Geno's eye-sockets widened as their faces met.

Reaper was kissing him.
