It Started In A Barn

Chapter 6

Zoey's P.O.V.

I sat there mostly confused. Gadget and 'Bee both seemed eager about something.

“What's goin’ on?” I asked as I tugged on 'Bee’s jacket

Bumblebee then lowered his close to mine

“I'll explain when we get outside.” He whispered to me with a smile

“Alright.” I said back with a smile of my own

“Don't worry kiddo, it's something rather good.” Gadget said quietly to me with a grin

I grinned back and we all finished up.

A moment later, Bumblebee has me up on his shoulders as we then head out. We walked outside, and I saw the sun was almost completely set. Gadget reopened the back of his alt and we climbed in. When he closed the doors, 'Bee was the first one to speak.

“Are you positive? It is Optimus’s signal, right?” He questioned

“Of course it is. It just reappeared several minutes ago. That must mean he's pulled himself out of hiding.” Gadget replied as he pulled out the phone thingy and started typing again

“Whose Optimus?” I ask as 'Bee pulled me down and set me in his lap

“Our leader. And close friend. His signal disappeared a while ago, a bit before my dad's did. It has now come back online, showing he's, as you say, 'up and running’.” Gadget said with a smile

I grinned slightly and nodded back.

“Where's he located at?” Bumblebee then asked

“From what my scanners say, Texas.” Gadget replied back

“Texas? I've always wondered what that looks like.” I said to them both

“Well then, winner winner, you're going on a road trip to Texas with us.” Gadget said with a smirk

“Yes!” I cheered causing both Bumblebee  and Gadget to laugh

“When should we leave?” ‘Bee asked

“Tomorrow morning.” Gadget replied

“Won't we need a place to sleep?” I question them both

“Yep, I think there's a hotel about half a mile away.” ‘Bee answered

“Off to there then.” Gadget said as he stood up

“Want me to trail you?” ‘Bee said

“Nope.” Gadget said as he looked around for something

Bumblebee looked at him confused

“Did you not see your shoulder? Driving will worsen it, let alone if you go at the speeds I know you will. Don't argue with me, you know it's true. You can help me attach your alt to my hitch.” Gadget said as he then pulled out a chain with a hook at the end

“No way.” Bumblebee said defiantly

“Easy way or hard way. Easy way, you do this. Hard way, I put you into a forced recharge. Believe me, Dad showed me how to do it with Ironhide, so don't  think I won't hesitate to do it with you.” Gadget said, slightly threateningly

‘Bee then lifted his free hand in surrender.

“Fine, fine. You'll tow my alt.” he said

“Knew I would convince you one way or another.”

“I swear you're almost identical to him.”

“I am his son after all. It would be more shocking if I wasn't.”
