It Started In A Barn

Chapter 23

Zoey's P.O.V

After I finished talking with them, they each split off to handle something. Except for ‘Bee and Gadget.

::Going to do your usual?:: ‘Bee asked as he picked me up

“Been a while, but I probably still got it.” Gadget replied playfully as he looked up at the ceiling.

I looked up and saw a variety of cross bars up there.

::You're going to try to do it aren't you?:: Bumblebee then asked, and I could heard him grinning

“Of course.” Gadget replied with a smirk as he took a few steps back.

I watched as he then jumped up and grabbed onto the bars with ease. He did a strong pull up as he pulled himself upwards onto it. A moment later he flipped upside down, looking at us.

“Still got it.” He said with a laugh

I giggled slightly

::Figures:: ‘Bee chuckled back

A few minutes later, ‘Bee and I just started walking around. Then Soulspark called for ‘Bee's help.

:;I'll be right back cutie:: ‘Bee said as he gently set me down

“Okay!” I said back

He followed Soul’ to a direct part of the ship while I walked around. I then just sat down in front of a pillar and hummed softly. I soon heard Cade and Optimus talking.

“When you said you were done fighting for humans, you didn't mean that, did you?” I heard Cade ask

“How many more of my kind must be sacrificed to atone for your mistakes?” Optimus asked back with a sigh

“Well, what do you think being human means? That's what we do. We make mistakes. But sometimes out of those mistakes come the most amazing things. When I fixed you, it was for a reward. That was it, that was why. For money. And it was me making a mistake. Without it, you wouldn't be here. So even if you got no faith in us, I'm asking you to do what I do. I'm asking you to look at all the junk and see the treasure. You gotta have faith, Prime, in who we can be.” Cade then said

I heard Optimus hum back.

I never thought about it like that before. Then again, I would get in trouble for any mistake I made.

I then heard Cade yelp as Gadget then spoke.

“Interesting word play. You outta be a philosopher or novelist.” I heard Gadget say.

I peered around the pillar and saw his hanging upside down above Cade and Optimus, on the ceiling bars.

I giggled quietly as Cade calmed down.

“How are you even up there!?”

“I've got my ways.” Gadget replied with an upside down shrug

“Does he always do that!?”

“You grow used to it.”  Optimus replied simply as he looked up at Gadget, who smiled back.

I then heard Hound calling for Gadget.

“Comin’!” Gadget called back before he pulled himself upright and walked along the bars.

Just then ‘Bee came back.

::All good?:: He asked while picking me up

“Yep! Can I ask ya a question?”

::Sure. Ask away.::
