It Started In A Barn

Chapter 14

Zoey’s P.O.V.

I was confused right now. 'Bee and Gadget were standing in shock, looking at this bloodstained man in front of us.

So far I've gotten that his name was Ratchet and he was Gadget's dad. That was about it

“'Bee get his other side.” Gadget directed and the two stepped out into the rain.

I stepped back as they both helped him inside, 'Bee on his left side and Gadget on his right side.

“Shut the door for us please Zoe.” Bumblebee said to me with a wink

“Sure thing.” I said with a nod

I quickly did so and followed them to where there were a couple of old cots. 'Bee and Gadget carefully set Ratchet down onto one of them. I waved my hand against the wall, before finding the lightswitch. With a quick flip, the lights came on.

“'Bee quick, you grab Optimus while I get Cade.” Gadget rapidly directed

“Aye aye!” 'Bee said with a salute before he darted off

“I'll be right back.” Gadget said earnestly before he darted off as well

Leaving me here with Ratchet.

I carefully walked over beside him, and I saw him open his eyes halfway. They were sick and clouded looking, along with having dark circles around them, but still had the bright blue color to them like Gadget's and 'Bee.

“Who might you happen to be little one?” He questioned me, his voice cracking and hoarse sounding, like he had swallowed a bunch of nails.

“I'm Zoey. Are you Ratchet?” I asked

“Indeed I am. A pleasure to meet you, Zoey.” Ratchet said kindly to me

I watched as he forced himself upright, the little color he had left drained from him. Ratchet seems a lot like Gadget. Such as being stubborn.

“Your Gadget's dad.” I then said to him, sitting on the edge of the cot

“Correct you are.” Ratchet said to me with a pained smile

I grinned slightly at him.

“He looked around a lot for you.” I said as I watched him

So far from what I could get from his injured features he was about in his early 40’s or late 30’s, I couldn't really tell. His hair looked like it was honey colored but then again I really couldn't tell fully.

“As I have looked around for him.” Ratchet agreed as he leaned up against the wall.

Then Gadget and Cade came in, Cade holding several tools and Gadget holding a medical kit.

“What the hell!?” Cade yelped as he saw Ratchet

“Hiya Cade! This is Ratchet.” I said with a smile and wave at him

I saw Ratchet give him a slight wave.

“Hello Cade.” He said simply

“Who is he!?” Cade asked as he followed Gadget over to us

“My dad.” Gadget replied as he set the medical kit down on the cot beside up and clicked it open.

I peered inside and saw a variety of bandages and some clothes. Along with some different sprays, some band aids, and a box cutter.

“Your dad is human?” Cade then questioned

Ratchet then replied

“Technically, no. The reason why is a story I prefer to explain later.” He snipped back
