Party.

"Scarlet. Look who's here. Mr. Marshall and his son"
My mom called me for the umpteenth time.

Jesus, Why are these business parties so boring? You can't even call them as a 'party'...I mean you won't be doing this stuff in parties. I wouldn't have attended it, but it's important for us to show our success to our Competitors. Well, defeating people is real fun. This is what I love the most about competitions.

Defeating him more than winning the prize.

I went to them and greeted.

"Nice to see you Mr.Marshall" I said.

Mr. Marshall is dad's best friend. He is in his mid-fifties. He had blonde hair and black eyes. I don't know but when I see him every time, I remember a white tiger.
Today he was wearing a black tux with a red tie which completely suited his personality.

"Likewise, young lady" He replied with a genuine smile.

Well honestly, he's really good at heart.
He helped us a lot when dad expired.
And he...he reminds me of dad whenever I see him.
When I see his face I think of those times in my childhood when ours and his family used to go for picnics.
I recall those memories with his family and his son.
God, remember how his son had this huge crush on me and always flirted with me
I chuckled mentally.

I respect him, like really. But what I dislike about him is he always brings his stupid son.

I gave him a smile and was about to leave When his stupid son interrupted
"Someone's ignoring the charm here"
He said with a hoarse voice.

Yeah. Shut up.
I mumbled to myself but he heard it.

"Well I'm sorry if I get carried away by those beautiful eyes"
He replied.

"Okay. That was cheesy"
I rolled my eyes.

He was going to say something stupid as always when somebody caught my attention.

Jass.
My saviour. My bestie.

I yelled her name and she turned to me like a lost kid, then she gave me this big goofy smile and came to me half-walking half-running in her high heels.
She was wearing a purple dress. Purple was so her colour. Her blonde dyed hair were swaying and her black eyes were twinkling.

God this is dramatic.

She came to me and hugged me tightly.
We do this every time we meet.
I hugged her even tighter, within few seconds she pulled away.

"You know you are a *****. Don't you?"
She glared at me.

"What??"
I asked confused.

"You cracked such a big deal and you didn't even think of informing me??"
She half yelled.

People obviously turned as a response to her high pitched scream. Mind you, she's an eagle.
So she pulled me to a corner where there was food right beside us.
I don't think she noticed the food.

"What kind of a best friend you're?? Is this what best friends does?? Aunt Carolina called my mom and invited her for the party in evening. You're so non forgivable!"
She yelled very furiously.

I was controlling the urge to laugh at her just-turned-red-coloured-nose-due to anger. But I did not.
Because if I did I'll be the one who have had to bare the consequences.

"What"
She glared me again.

"Your highness, may I please get a chance to justify myself?"
I asked her faking my eyes pleading.

Yeah, I know I'm a drama queen, but only sometimes!!
Especially when I am with her.

"You may proceed"
She said controlling her laugh too.

"I was about to call you but then.."
I started, but stopped when Aaron's face came to my mind.

Just a mere thought of him can turn my best day ever to my worst day ever.

"But, then what?"
Jass questioned.

"I just met with an accident"
I shrugged my shoulders like it was nothing.

"What??! Are you alright? What happened to you?? When did that happen??"
She raised so many questions.

"Nothing. I'm grand."
I replied while smiling at her sudden change of toning.

I mean if something would have happened I wouldn't be here standing. Right?

She huffed at me.

I continued
"but..."

"What??"
She again looked worried.

"It was him"
I gritted my teeth.

"Who?"
She asked confused.

"Aaron. Aaron was the person with whom I met the accident"
I replied.

"Oh Jesus, Did he hurt you?"
She asked with her eyes full of shock and worry.

"Luckily no."
I answered honestly.
"I didn't let him do anything" I continued proudly.

She let out a sigh of relief.

"But he crashed my new limo and insulted me in the middle of a road"
I said with fury clear in my eyes.

"Son of a *****"
She mumbled but I heard it.
"Hey, let's not spoil the evening by talking about him, I'm starving"
She continued

"Come then, let's eat something" I replied.

And eventually, my oh so boring party became a fun thing.
