I followed Richard into his parlor, laying down on the third seat and watching as he sat on the rolling chair next to it. "You ready?" He turned his tattoo machine on, putting it against my vein and injecting the needle, I turned slightly at the burning on the back of my neck. I never quite understood how the chip made that burning sensation through the vein, but it was sure as Hell painful.

"Look, I just woke up and there are a lot of things I have missed. Seven years of information, to be exact. Any new... well, news since I- Watch it, Rick, don't think I don't know what you're doing." I glared up at him, seeing his calm face as he made this experience more painful than it should be.
"Sorry, Leo, seems I couldn't concentrate quite well, see, I'm trying to update your chip after years, so if you mind shutting up for a-"
"Rick, I swear, if you say another word, I am going to-" I winced, feeling the updating kicking in.
"Sadly, I am going to have to tell you what you missed and what the team has found. I don't know much of what your daughter knows, see, she doesn't know me quite well to tell me things. Guess that's good in the long run, means she chooses her friends wisely." Richard combed his brown hair back, scratching his long gingerish beard. Did he know what happened to Revy?
"Richard, do you know where Revy is?"
"Oh yeah, sure. She's in France, I already contacted the local Tattoo artist that she could stumble upon her. She'll be back in a few days, I am sure. Oh! She got a black dog named Ace, fluffiest thing I've seen, fella's deadly though."
"... Rick, she's in the hospital. Desiderius planned an attack on-"
"She's in the hospital!?!? How is she!? Please tell me she's alright!" I screamed, seeing the needle move in a direction it isn't supposed to. Luckily it wasn't too severe because he quickly composed himself and wiped off the dripping blood from my arm. "Sorry... I really like that kiddo, never ratted me out for smoking Pot... She actually did a wicked prank on her now Ex boyfriend after he cheated on her."
"Rick, you're doing it again." Richard pouted slightly, shutting up and muttering a low apology. "Revy's left arm is gone and, well... she's in a coma. Much like mine."
"Damn, what could Desiderius be up to. The government is in Genesis' palms, they won't do shit to... Do they even know that all of the attacks are being supplied by Genesis!? After your damn brother-"
"Half-brother, and keep your voice down!" I hushed.
"Louis took over Genesis and everything has been going to Hell. We were only six when he took over, three years later Generation X ended, three years after that was the failed year, that same year we rebelled against the government but Genesis stopped making mutants and focused on education. Was everyone around the world completely oblivious to how many babies we were saving!?"
"Louis lost half of his staff, and you were the scientist to lead them. That's when you founded Revelation."
"We, we found it. Made Revelation in our glory days, helping and researching the rest of the genetically modified humans. I even made your daughter into one, she was just a tiny little baby, she couldn't survive without it. Kinda just wish we could take it out of her, but it'll kill her, won't it? Well, Bell wasn't too fond of the idea since the beginning, she probably was the one who told Desiderius about it."
"I should've known Bell was on his side, I was so calm, happy, I was finally getting the family I always wanted... I was stupid enough to not realize I was doing that because Desiderius left me alone. He wanted me to get close to his little spy. Desiderius is Alaric, Revy, and apparently their younger siblings father." I glared at Rick, making sure he didn't interrupt. "Yes, I am not their father, and yes, you were right."
"I wasn't going to say that, I was actually going to say that Alaric... well, at least Alaric looks like you, I have seen him in pictures when I was going to pick up Revy's dog."
I winced, tilting my head to the side, "he does, I was going to tell him but... I didn't have it in me. I already told him I wasn't his father, who am I to rip his sister away from him?"
"... You always have to be the noble asshole don't you?"
"Bell finally ran back to Desiderius, her real love-," I knocked Ricks hand off of my shoulder, "I don't need comforting, especially from you."
"This is not about me!"
"You're right... This whole thing --about you-- did not have to ruin the great friendship we had."
"There was no way to come back from it now, Leonard, right now we have two crazy organizations. Genesis and the Alliance. Although Genesis is on no one's side, we have to take them down with them. Who do they think they are supplying the world's Governments and their Enemies!? Genesis is as much of our enemy as the Alliance. The only upper hand we have is that no one but us know we exist, and I plan to keep it that way, Leonard! No calling your police friends!"
"I know, I know. You think I would be stupid enough to tell everyone that I am a science experiment, most of my sect doesn't even know, the only reason they wanted to protect me while I was in my coma was that I knew stuff, and probably didn't want to kill me because of the law. Those idiots didn't even notice when I left; once the nurses told them, I was already on a plane to France. Took a Hell of a long time to find out where my daughter and son were, and all I knew was that they were not in the U.S..."
"Why didn't Desiderius attack Revy if it was so easy for you to find her? I mean, wouldn't he have tried to kill her earlier?"
"Well, he needs me or her."
"They believe you passed some of your knowledge to her, but of course, they would prefer the original copy, so they waited for you to wake up. Just goes to show you that they have men all over the place, finding out you woke up as soon as the U.S. Government did."
"We truly can't trust anyone... They don't know she is in a coma, or even alive, that's why they are not trying to kill her now that she's weak. I believe I also made the right choice to take them to the U.S. where we were safe for years, until the attack of course..."
"We have no clue where Desiderius is, considering he constantly moves. All the Alliance have for themselves are numbers and obscurity; we don't know what they have, whom they are teamed up with. I don't even know what they want!"
I groaned again, twisting and turning as the pain got stronger, then stopped. Letting out a breath and sighing in relief, it was about time I was fully upgraded. Richard pulled out the needle, wiping the blood off and putting a band aid over the wound.
"Can we go now?"
"Yes, of course." Richard stood up, walking towards the small stairs that led up to his room. He kneeled in front of them, pulling on the first step and lifting them as a whole. "After you."
I stepped over, walking down the stair under the stairs... Anyways, and heading toward the secret hideout.
"Did you recruit any more workers?"
"Yeah, after our rogue scientist, we sent out missionaries to parts of Africa and Russia, pretty neat, huh? Guess we just need to settle down in Hawaii and we are done. We have our people all over the world hidden as tattoo artist: who knew some tattoo parlors would let us build a layer under them? We could buy a new settlement and build a parlor ourselves!"
"You're telling me you didn't help building all of the-"
"Don't be ridiculous, Leo, of course, I sent Revelation missionaries to build. What do you take me as? An idiot!?"
"There were a lot of things I thought you were, but an idiot is not one of them... I mean, a crazy bastard, yes, but not an idiot."
"Thanks, now let me show you what you have missed for the past seven years. I bet you'll catch up quickly."
