ALTERNATE CHAPTER 3: Not Telling Part 1

Spoilers from: Protector 2.1-3.3

I get way too many ideas of an alternate way Jerome and Nolan get together and I love them all.

So, the basics for this one: Jerome and Mae are staying with Mae's aunt, Jerome is a vlogger by this time, only Atticus knows Nolan is gay, only Atticus and Mae know Jerome is gay, Nolan and Jerome are dating in secret and only Atticus knows, Nolan and Atticus are basically best friends (Atticalan who? I only know of Nolicus.), most of the Jeromans ship Jerome and Orchid since Jerome isn't out yet, but there are the few Jeromans who see the chemistry between him and Nolan so they ship Jerlan, AND Orchid has a crush on Jerome.

A pretty obvious one that everyone knows, even Nolan since Orchid talks about him all the time.

ALTERNATE CHAPTER 3: Not Telling

~Nolan: Age 14~

       "I feel like you're mad at me," Jerome said as he set up his laptop so he could go live on VidGalore. Both Atticus and I were joining in on the broadcast, but I was tempted to hide in a corner.

       "What ever makes you think that?" I asked.

       "Your tone of voice," Jerome said. "The way you keep glaring at me. Oh, and then you saying 'I'm mad at you' as soon as you and Atticus walked in."

       "He has a reason to be mad at you," Atticus said.

       "Not helping," Jerome said.

       "What? It's true," Atticus said. "I would be too if I had a girlfriend and she was leading someone on. And before even denying leading Orchid on, you totally are."

       Jerome sighed. "I don't want to hurt her. I'm not good with turning people down."

      "I just don't see why you're letting your fans into thinking Jerchid is a thing," I said. "See? Even the ship name sounds stupid. It shouldn't be a thing."

       "Hey, I'm not the one who doesn't want to tell the Jeromans that Jerlan is a thing," Jerome said.

       "I never said that," I said. "And it's your channel. You could come out to them and they'll support you."

       "Right. Which is why you're out to your family."

       "Can you two not argue right now?" Atticus asked. "I don't want to be a third-wheel, nor do I want to be a couple's councilor. Jerome, just agree that Nolan has a reason to be mad at you because you're leading Orchid on. And Nolan, just agree that it's also your fault Orchid is being led on because you never told her that she's crushing on your boyfriend, whether you're out or not."

       "It's not easy coming out," I said. "I want to tell my sister that she's crushing on my boyfriend, believe me I do, but I can't come out to my family. I tried, but I can't do it."

       "Then come out to people you don't know as well," Atticus said.

       I knew Atticus meant to come out on broadcast, but I didn't know if I would actually be willing to do it. But maybe that will help me build the courage to come out to my family. It was really hard hiding the fact that I was gay, and I had a boyfriend.

       Who my sister was crushing on.

       And everyone in my family shipped it.

       Except Ryder, for some reason. He wasn't that much of a shipper anyway, but he actually said he didn't think Jerome and Orchid would be good together.
