ALTERNATE CHAPTER 7: Spring Break Part 2
~Nolan: Age 14~
I really wished Dad let me stay home instead of going to the beach, but he didn't want me to keep isolating myself. It wasn't that I wanted to isolate myself but not going with everyone to the beach.
It was that I didn't want to see Jerome shirtless because I was probably going to blush like crazy.
Jerome was a very muscular person, as shown on his social media because of the countless amount of shirtless pictures posted since he was a huge tool.
I was sitting on the beach blanket with Orchid when Jerome decided to head into the ocean with Mae since Ryder was currently eating bacon flavoured chips and refused to leave the bag. Before heading into the ocean, Jerome peeled off his shirt and I came to the conclusion that he was still a lot hotter in person.
"He's so hot," Orchid said to me.
"I know," I said without thinking. Like always. Ever since I first saw Jerome's picture online, it was like I couldn't stop myself from saying what was on my mind.
"In a 'if I was gay, I'd date him' kind of way?" Orchid asked. "Or 'I'm gay and I want to date him' kind of way?"
I looked over at Orchid. "What are you talking about?"
"Nolan, come on, it's clear you're attracted to him," Orchid said. "You stare at him all the time."
I was starting to think that I was actually the last one to know I was gay. My siblings were way too observant and I was starting to hate it.
I didn't even bother trying to deny it. Instead, I asked, "Well, cane you blame me? I mean, look at him. He's perfect."
"I know, and I'm jealous that you have a chance with him and I don't," Orchid said. "It's not fair."
I just shrugged, this time trying not to give it away that there actually was something going on between me and Jerome.
But apparently, not saying anything was confirmation that there was judging by the way Orchid punched my arm.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Orchid asked.
"Geez, does everyone know?" I asked as I rubbed my arm. "First Ryder, now you? Let me guess, next Tulip will now?"
"That I actually don't doubt," Orchid said, right as Tulip decided to walk over and sit with us with a scowl on her face.
"What's troubling you?" I asked.
"Jerome is," Tulip said, looking towards the ocean where Jerome and Mae were splashing each other and laughing. "He's up to something. Like he's going to steal Mae from Ryder."
"I really don't think he will," Orchid said.
"Says you," Tulip said. "I'm planning how to get rid of him."
I didn't even bother with Tulip at times.
Tulip looked over at Mom and Dad. "Mom and Dad, do you trust Jerome?"
"Nope," Dad said.
"Dad, seriously?" Ryder asked. "Jerome's cool."
"He is," Dad agreed. "But he's a little too close to Mae. Aren't you even the tiniest bit worried?"
