"Hey" Mercy dryly replied as she took her food items off the tray Keith brought back to the table. Keith sensed the tension and tried to break it by starting up a conversation.

"How has the teaching with the barbering been going? You picked up anything new?" Keith asked Leilani as he stuffed a couple fries into his mouth. Their conversation continued as Anthony was staring down at his food and Mercy was eating hers and staring at her phone.

"And all thanks to my boo, I'll be the shining star of Continental" Leilani said as she rubbed her hand up and down Anthony's back. Anthony was confused as to why she was doing this and removed her arm from his body.

Mercy glanced up at them and saw the disappointment and embarrassment in Leilani's face. She snickered and shook her head. Just as she thought, Leilani was trying to get with Anthony. The only person who couldn't see it was Anthony. Mercy decided to text Anthony.

I wasn't peeping it until one of the dudes in the shop pointed it out, but yeah I see it

Mercy opened the message and didn't respond. Anthony watched her close out of the thread and sighed. His sigh caught Leilani's attention and she looked at him with a confused expression. "What's wrong?" He just shook his head.

The lunch went by with only conversation between Keith and Leilani. Anthony and Mercy didn't speak to each other and had minimal responses when Keith and Leilani would try to bring them into the conversation. Mercy saw how sad and upset Anthony looked and felt guilty.

You can come over tonight. We can squash this. The kids aren't going to be home.

"Hey babies!" Mercy said into her phone. She was on Facetime with her kids and Trell. Darnell was going out of state with Akiya and needed someone to watch him, Viv just wanted the other two so they could bond and she could spend time with her grandchildren.

"Hi mommy" Marjae said clearly and Zion sort of said. "Hey Auntie Mercy" Trell responded. They were all in their pajamas and ready to go to sleep. Mercy just wanted to talk to them before they went to sleep. It was 7 and their bedtime was 7:30.

"You guys having fun with Grandma?" They all nodded their heads. It was silent because Mercy was just admiring all the kids. A lot of things happened and none of them were positive in how these kids were conceived. But it was all thanked and forgiven because three beautiful children were blessed and born.

Mercy's phone vibrated and it was Anthony, telling her that he was outside. She sighed and told the kids goodnight before the call was over. Walking downstairs in her blue sports bra and black leggings, she turned the alarm off and opened the front door.

Anthony was standing in front of her with a duffle bag and his normal night attire. Mercy laughed. "You just know you going to stay the night, huh?" He smirked and walked into the house and went straight upstairs.

Mercy scoffed and secured the house before going into the kitchen to fix them both a bowl of green grapes. She went into her bedroom and saw Anthony unpacking his clothes and putting it into his drawer that he made for himself. He moved Mercy's clothes out of her drawers and put his clothes in there.

She laid on the bed on her back and played a game on her phone while stuffing her face with grapes, in the process. Once Anthony was finished with his clothes he laid down next to Mercy while giving her the look. She peeped it and said, "Wait, let me get comfortable".

Getting in his favorite position of her sitting up with her back against the headboard and his head in her lap, while rubbing up and down her legs, they were finally comfortable.

They sat in silence for a while before Anthony decided to speak. "Are we going to talk about it or are we going to ignore it?" Mercy just shrugged as she scrolled through her phone. Anthony sighed and snatched her phone out of her hand then threw it from her reach on the bed. She sighed and looked at him.

"I guess we're going to talk about it" She huffed and played with a grape in her hand. Anthony was always the talk it out kind of guy. If someone had an issue with him, he'd want to talk it out so it doesn't go unheard and then blow up out of nowhere. If he and Mercy were ever going to be in a relationship, he wants to talk about it so she couldn't use this situation against him.

"Good. Now I have no attraction towards Leilani. She's the age of my younger sister and I don't date anyone the same age as my younger sister, it's weird. She had an attraction towards me but I did not notice it. I do apologize for giving you an ultimatum because that was totally wrong since we did talk about the situation before. And I will not talk to anyone about our relationship who you do not approve of"

Mercy nodded and continued to eat her grapes. She had nothing to say since she did nothing wrong in the situation. "You are forgiven child" Mercy picked up a grape and dropped it in his mouth. "Now it's my turn to speak"

"These past few days when we've been apart, I was really bothered. I did not like the feeling of you not talking to me or being with someone else, even though you and her were not together. Sooo, will you be my boyfriend?" Anthony sat up and looked at her with a smile resting on his face.

Instead of answering her straight up, he decided to show her.
