Harry Potter had no family, he dealt with everything alone.

Without knowing what he was doing, he started forward, but there was a sudden movement on either side of him and two pairs of hands grabbed him and pulled him back [...]

"No, Harry!" Hermione gasped in a petrified whisper; Ron, however, spoke to Black

"If you want to kill Harry, you'll have to kill us too!" he said fiercely, though the effort of standing upright was draining him of still more colour.

Knowing Hermione, he was sure it would be a large book full of very difficult spells - but it wasn't. His heart gave a huge bound as he ripped back the paper and saw a sleep black leather case, with sliver words stamped across it, reading Broomstick Servicing Kit.

"Wow, Hermione!" Harry whispered, unzipping the case to look inside.

Mrs. Weasley kissed all her children, then Hermione, and finally, Harry. He was embarrassed, but really quite pleased, when she gave him an extra hug.

"Do take care, won't you, Harry?" she said as she straightened up, her eyes oddly bright. Then she opened her enormous handbag and said "I've made you all sandwiches [...]"

"Your mother died to save you. If there is one thing Voldemort cannot understand, it is love. He didn't realise that love as powerful as your mother's for you leaves its own mark. Not a scar, no visible sign... to have been loved so deeply, even though the person who loved us is gone, will give us some protection forever."

"You think the dead we loved ever truly leave us? You think that we don't recall them more clearly than ever in times of great trouble? Your father is alive in you, Harry, and shows himself most plainly when you have need of him."

"Harry - you're a great wizard, you know."

"I'm not as good as you," said Harry, very embarrassed as she let go of him.

"Me!" said Hermione. "Books! And cleverness! There are more important things - friendship and bravery and - oh Harry - be careful!"

Luna had decorated her bedroom ceiling with five beautifully painted faces: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and Neville. They were not moving as the portraits at Hogwarts moved, but there was a certain magic about them all the same: Harry thought they breathed. What appeared to be fine golden chains wove around the pictures, linking them together, but after examining them for a minute or so, Harry realised that the chains were actually one word, repeated a thousand times in golden ink: friends... friends... friends...

"Don' you worry, Harry. You'll learn fast enough. Everyone starts at the beginning at Hogwarts, you'll be just fine. Just be yerself. I know it's hard. Yeh've been singled out, an' that's always hard. But yeh'll have a great time at Hogwarts — I did — still do, 'smatter of fact."

Professor McGonagall peered sternly over her glasses at Harry.

'I want to hear you're training hard, Potter, or I may change my mind about punishing you.'

Then she suddenly smiled.

'Your father would have been proud,' she said. 'He as an excellent Quidditch player himself.

Professor McGonagall went straight to Harry.

'Come along, Potter,' she whispered. The think line of her mouth was twitching as though she was about to cry. 'Come along... hospital wing.'

'No,' said Dumbledore sharply.

'Dumbledore, he ought to – look at him – he's been through enough tonight –'

"He must have known I'd want to leave you."

"No, he must have known you would always want to come back."

'He is dead!' Narcissa Malfoy called to the watchers.

"You're not a bad person. You're a very good person, who bad things have happened to."

"We're with you whatever happens."

Harry Potter had one of the best families I've seen. Because family isn't necessarily about being blood related but more so caring for one another at times where others would walk away in fear. He had a family who knew him, mostly understood him, always begged to help and had the ability to make him smile in times where he was doubting it all. Harry James Potter might have felt alone, but he never really was.
