tyler joseph and joshua dun fell in love at the tender age of five.

they had always been best friends, but, on tyler's 16th birthday, they became more than best friends.

they became boyfriends.

they became married at age 21.

marriage was great for the first year. lots of 'i love you more's' and kissing for hours on end.

but, joshua started going out more in the years following.

and tyler didn't want to be a husband that holds his spouse back from doing things without him, so he let him go.

they had a child on the way.

her name was ruby.

she was 1 month old, already up for adoption.

joshua was not home the day they were supposed to pick her up. he didn't answer his calls. he didn't leave a note. nothing.

now, he had done this many times before in the past few months, but tyler never thought joshua wouldn't be there for the bringing home of their child.

and tyler was sick of it.

he called his husband and told him to pick up his belongings, for he would no longer be living in their adorable, cottage-looking home.

tyler knew exactly what his husband was doing.

he was addicted to heroine.

and so joshua picked up his things, approaching tyler to give him one last kiss, but his husband turned away.

"i love you, tyler," he sniffled.

tyler couldn't describe how desperately he wanted to say it back.

but joshua has abandoned him and their newborn child.

tyler was always one who was insecure. his mental stability was always questionable. but with josh, everything was ok.

more than ok, actually.

but now, tyler was a single father.

the one thing in the world he loved, the one thing he got out of bed for, the one thing he stayed alive for, was gone.

except, now, there was no escaping.

he had a child to take care of.
