it was one year later. ruby was waddling around in her little toy she sat in that allowed her to walk a bit, bumping into thing after thing.

tyler had been receiving a letter from josh every other friday with updates as to how he was doing.

there was a knock on the door.

"who could that be?" tyler asked, carrying ruby to the door with him. he opened the door to find no one in sight, but when he looked down, he saw a big bag filled with diapers.

joshua.

"h-he's clean..." tyler whispered to himself.

he took the bag inside, emptying it to find all its contents. several boxes of diapers, toys for ruby, a bouquet of flowers for tyler, and a note.

'tyler,

i'm out of rehab now. i'm a year and a half clean. you and ruby are the only reasons.

i figured you could use some of these things.

i thought maybe someday all three of us could meet up at the park for lunch or something. but if not, that's totally ok. i understand.

if you ever need a day off, i'd be more than happy to take ruby.

i have a job now. i work at the Vans store in the mall. it isn't much, but it's enough to get by.

i love you. still.
