"i-i'd like t-to s-start rehab," josh told the lady at the front desk, shaky from everything he took before he came.

"alright," she said. "for what reason?

"d-drug addiction."

the lady nodded. "well, this is the first step. i'll have you fill some papers out and we'll check you into a room."

josh nodded, taking the paperwork and sitting down in a chair in the waiting room, his hand shaking so terribly that he dropped his pen twice.

'name: joshua william dun

sex: male

birth date: june 18, 1988

spouse: tyler robert joseph-dun. i hope.

children: ruby dorothea joseph-dun. i hope.

current prescribed medications: zoloft, 10mg

current unprescribed medications: heroine.

reasons for admission: i let drugs overtake my life. i started treating my husband in ways he never deserves to be treated. i didn't show up for the adoption of our child because i was too busy with my dealer. i lost my job, but i never told my husband. i didn't tell him about my addiction, either. but i think he found out. my family has turned against me, and i don't blame them one bit. i want to prove to tyler that i can be an amazing husband and an incredible dad, and i can't do that while i'm on drugs.'

josh handed in the paperwork, sniffling quietly.

about ten minutes later, the lady returned. "well, joshua. you've been admitted. right this way."

and so it began.
