Our eyes locked for two seconds.

(I know because I counted.)

You kept walking. I turned around.

You got closer and closer.

(I thought this would happen.)

She pointed to you, but I kept talking.

(You were too close.)

If you were anyone else, I'd push you away. But I drew you closer. And I wished to wrap my arms around your neck.

(Or my fingers.)

And hug you until you couldn't breathe.

(Either way.)

And I would breathe life into you.

(Until you loved me.)

And you stood there.

I kept walking.

(I'll never forgive myself.)
