I Never Knew You

Blow holes in the ships of those
who wish to destroy you
and watch the captains drown.
Put the great man
Alexander to shame and
burn the cities down.
Resurrect poor old Homer
and have him
sing your tale.
Have your stories ride the wind
on your last night's deathly
gale.
Don't you bow
to the pharaohs
who claim an impossible thing.
Crumble the Parthenon in your
very fists and take your spot
as the returning king.
