Chapter 53: Blessing

    Herc woke up early that morning, still cuddled up with his sleeping boyfriend. Laf's hair turned into a beautiful mess of curls that surrounded his head and fell into his eyes. Herc noticed the way Lafayette's features appeared softer while he slept, his lips parted ever so slightly.

   Herc couldn't bare to wake him, so instead he carefully detangledhimself from the sleeping frenchman, before heading down stairs for a glass of water.

    When he reached the kitchen, he was surprised to see Lafayette's mom whipping somthing up in the kitchen, while Laf's father read the paper at the dining room table. Herclues felt this was the perfect time to ask a very important question.

"Goodmorning Mrs. Lafayette." Herc said politely.

"Bonjour, how did you sleep?" Laf's mother asked, continuing to scramble some eggs in her pan.

"Good. I was actually wondering if you could help translate somthing to Mr. Lafayette?" Herc explained.

"Oh, of course. Let me just finish this first." Laf's mom said, stirring the eggs in the pan a bit before turning of the stove.

  Mrs. Lafayette took a seat beside her husband, getting his attention. Herc cleared his throat.

"Mr. Lafayette, I've been wanting to ask you something for awhile now," Herc began, waiting so that Mrs. Lafayette could translate."I really love your son, and he is the man I want to spend the rest of my life with."

    Mrs. Lafayette's eyes widened and she quickly translated the words, eager to hear the rest. Mr. Lafayette kept a serious expression.Herclues cleared his throat nervously.

"And with your permission, I'm going to marry him." Herc finished.

    As Mrs. Lafayette translated the serious look on her husband face did not change. Instead, he stood up, folding his paper and setting it gentlyon the table. He made his way across the room to where Herclues stood.

    Mr.Lafayette stared into Hercs soul. Herc kept his cool on the surface, but was beginning to internally fear what would come next.

    Then Mr.Lafayette's eyes began to crinkle at the edges, and his stone cold expression melted into one of pure joy.

"Oui, vous pouvez épouser mon fils" Mr. Lafayette said.

     Herclues didn't know exactly what he said, but it was made clear when Mr. Lafayette pulled him into a hug and, even though Herc couldn't breathe, he didn't pull away. Because this man was going to be his father in law. After a short while Mrs. Lafayette joined in.

   And when Lafayette went down stairs to find Hercules. He found him and his parents hugging in the dining room. He didn't know what for, but he knew that it a sign of something good to come.

     I have decided to update yet again, but because I have a small announcement. There will be only two more chapters of this book. I might do an Epilogue if it requested by enough of you. However I expect to wrap up Je te veux by the end of the month.
