Kavya Pov:

After the little discussion with Rudhya, I kinda made up my mind just to give it a try, to think about the marriage. I didn't want to jump in the opportunity and get married straight away. Its true that we had time to think about it. And I'm desperately in need to share this with Fari. At least she can help me with it.

With that hope, I got ready to go college. I checked my appearance once again in the mirror and took my bag, making my way downstairs to grab lunch.

"Good Morning, Kavi", Vadhana aunty greeted me once I entered the hall.

"Er......Good Morning Aunty", I greeted back. She smiled at me and resumed eating her breakfast. I picked my lunchbox from the cupboard and was about to pack lunch.

"Kaviya, Can I have a moment with you, please?" Suddenly Kalavathy aunty asked me in a polite tone, in Tamil.

"Yeah.....Why not.." I replied back, unsure of what is gonna come next. I dropped my box and bag on the table. She led the way to her room and I followed her like a lost puppy. She closed the door as I entered inside after her.

"Where do you think you are going now?", she asked me pointing her finger at my attire.

'Doesn't she know where I am going?' I thought to myself. I shook my head in disbelief and replied back, "Of course, to college."

She scowled at my reply and said, "You don't need to go college anymore. Your uncle will go and withdraw your transfer certificate from your college. Anyways, just stay here and get ready to move to Mumbai in 3 days".

'Whattt!' I never thought this marriage thing could affect my studies. "No. You can't do that. And why Mumbai?" I more like whispered back as the fear of leaving everyone dear to my heart just to marry him started threatening me.

She chuckled and threw her head back.

'Seriously? What's so funny?' I looked at her bewilderedly as she said, "Don't think we would tolerate having you in this house even after marrying you to him. Trust me, that's the last thing I ever wish for."

I looked down at my fingers as I came to know the truth that I was again incapable of doing anything about this situation. And again I felt helpless. What about my studies then? That was the only hope left for me to live a life I dreamed. But now? Was that all? Why did it always has to happen to me?

"And you! Don't play like you are not dying to marry him. You should be after him by now as you may know he is filthy rich." She snapped, bringing me back to reality from my train of thoughts.

"Its also very true when they say LIKE A MOTHER, LIKE DAUGHTER." She smirked at me. That was the wrong move aunty You're gonna pay for this.

"DON'T YOU EVER DARE TO TALK ABOUT MY MOM." I shouted back in rage. I balled my knuckles which turned into white.

'How dare she talk about my mom.'

Her eyes widened at my sudden outburst.

'I am not a person to get angry at every little things. But once I lost it, I can't give you any guarantee.'

I continued to glare at her, gritting my teeth. She stepped closer, and her hand was thrown up in the air and back down at my cheek. It happened too fast, as I couldn't recall what had just happened. Once the numbness in my cheeks had vanished, I felt the pain sink in. My head was turned to a side by its impact and I closed my eyes shut.
