The interview went pretty much good and to my luck, there is a bus stop near the restaurant. An old couple, Mr and Mrs.Davis are running the restaurant for almost 10 years along with 2 chefs and 3 waitresses, now I am happy to be one of them. But my problem is the restaurant is literally at the opposite end of the city from our house, there can be nearly 20 kilometres distance between our house and the restaurant, and I will have to work from 6pm until 9pm. I don't think my dear husband would ever allow me to work as a low paid waitress in a local restaurant so it's better to let him uninformed about my job and all.

I tied my hair in a lazy bun and switched off the night lamp and fell straight on the bed after I finished dressing in pyjamas. This day is exhausting, darkness engulfed me in a deep slumber as soon as I closed my eyes.

I twirled around in my bed lying flat on my stomach but snapped open my eyes when a heavy wind starts blowing, pushing the windows of my room wide open and letting in the the harsh winds to trouble my cozy sleep. The curtains danced crazily in the wild wind. I rubbed my eyes before getting up and stepped towards the windows. A heavy wind hit me causing me to shiver. I hugged myself as I stood in front of  the windows enjoying the fresh muddy scent of rain.

Black clouds sprawled across the sky blocking the moonlight to reach the earth. A dim light in a corner of the garden illuminated the surrounding. I stretched out my hands and grasped the door but stood frozen in my place when something in the garden caught my eyes. Squinting my eyes, I tried to get a clear vision. A loud gasp escaped my lips when I saw a hooded figure standing in our garden and facing my room. The shadow of the wildly moving leaves of the trees scared me more. I shrieked in fright and jumped back when a thunder crackled clearing the stillness and silence.

Stepping back to my bed I lied down and covered myself under the duvet. I closed my eyes and silently prayed to God. I screamed and threw away the duvet when I felt something on my head. Fear shot inside me as I opened my eyes to see nothing but darkness filling my room. With my widened eyes I glanced my surroundings but I am welcomed with an eerie silence. But I am sure I felt someone's hand on my head, I inched up and leaned on the headboard of my single bed covering my legs with the duvet.

I wiped the sweat trailing down from my forehead and hugged my knees to my chest. My heart is pounding fast inside my ribcage and I felt my stomach tightening. I felt hard to breath. I closed my eyes and leaned my head on the headboard to calm my trembling nerves. I jumped back when I again felt someone smoothing down my hair. I snapped open my eyes to allow myself to experience an utter shock.

Without realising, the words fell out of my mouth, "Amma". (Translation - Mom)

Her eyes twinkling even in the darkness, I could still see her frame with the dim light peeking through the curtains. I rubbed my eyes in a hope of dreaming but no, it's not a freaking dream.

"Amma", this time my voice came wobbled as tears pooled in my eyes. Sleep is long gone in my eyes as I bored my eyes into her calm ones. She kept running her hand on my hair as she smiled warmingly at me sitting to my left. The absolute shock left me completely paralyzed.

"Kavi", my whole body froze and my eyes are at the edge of rolling down when I heard his voice breaking the silence inside the room. I gulped aloud and broke the eye contact with my mom and turned my head aside to see my dad smiling at me.

"Ap.. Ap.. Appa", I felt like someone is choking my throat. I twirled around my head to see my mom. How the heck it can be real? How in the freaking world my dead parents are sitting on my bed at midnight out of the blue? I can't believe my eyes, I can't believe what I am seeing right now.
