Tris POV
I suddenly squirm with excitement in my seat when Tobias comes to sit in the empty seat next to me. But wait. He dumped me. He wouldn't want me back. My happiness fades and I slouch back in my seat, slightly frowning. Christina raises an eyebrow but it quickly changes to a smirk and she wiggles her eyebrows. I'm about to say something but Will comes and sits on the other side of her, taking all her antention.
I turn to the teacher but she's still glaring at Tobias.
"Nice of you to join us Four." The teacher says sarcastically. He rolls his eyes and sits in the seat next to me. And next think I know he's... Crying?
No way, Tobias doesn't cry, he's strong he can pull through. But I see his body shaking and I hear soft sniffles. I feel bad, I wonder what happened. Something pretty awful I assume.
The bell rings, everyone gets up and Christina gives me a thumbs up before scurrying off into the crowd of dauntless leaving me in the classroom. Was this a set up?!? I feel like I should go but my instinct tells me to stay with him.
"T-Four? A-are you okay?" I ask tears suddenly stinging my eyes. I miss him, but I know breaking up with me was what he wanted. He doesn't look at me. He just keeps his face in his hands.
"No Tris." He sniffles. "It wasn't what I wanted, I made a huge mistake and now I've lost everything I've ever loved." There's a sudden silence. What do I say? But then he speaks up again.
"You."
