Chapter 43

We were both sitting in silence looking each other. Sam's green eyes were locked into mine and he had his usual grumpy look on his face. 

Mr. McGrumpy looked pale and his hair were perfectly brushed. He wasn't moving any muscle and his eyes were on me.

I was waiting for him to get mad and to start shouting like crazy, but he didn't. Mr. McGrumpy didn't look affected from this and looked so damn calm.

The only thing he did was breath heavily and then it was silence again. I didn't know what to say.

Maybe I should apologize, but it's not my fault.

Okay maybe it is, but still.

"Do you remember the bus station?" Sam finally spoke as I narrowed my eyes in confusion. 

"Yeah, what about it?"

He ran his hand through his black hair smiling at me "That's where we met"

"I know" I said looking at the view in front of us as Sam's hand touched mine. Okay, I know he is doing that on purpose, but it's not that I don't like it. It's just feels weird, a guy touching me not like he wants something from me and even if he wants, not taking it by force.

"I never knew you would be a pain in the ass" He said chuckling "You looked pretty normal"

I narrowed my eyes lightly elbowing Sam "Whoa I'm pretty normal thank you very much"

"You're crazy Connors, I swear you're not normal"

Now we werw both facing each other again and Sam looked pretty amused by this.

"I'm sorry to dissapoint you Mr. Reynonlds, but I'm normal" I said as Sam shook his head smiling at me.

"I don't think normal people open their boss a dating app account and then he wakes up with hundrets of girls at the door who want his money"

I had no excuse for that. He is right, no normal person would do that. I'm just an arrogant person damn.

"Okay, but I have my reasons" I lied as Mr. McGrumpy narrowed his eyes.

"Oh you do?" He asked in doubt raising his eyebrows "And what would that be?"

"I don't have to tell you"

He cracked a big smile and Sam finally for once lookss truly happy.

That smile of his wasn't put by force there, but it was a genuine smile. He looked happy and I didn't wanted him to frown again.

"That's what I'm talking about. I've worked with many people, but you're one of a kind. That's why you're still here."

I crossed my arms at my chest "What the heck? I do my job very well, that's why I'm here"

Okay, I can't even believe that let out making other people believe I'm good at work.

"You aren't even working Natalie, you're just traveling around the world with me" Mr. McGrumpy said as I nod.

Yeah he is right, but I still don't get why. Why is he taking me with him? After all, I'm a pain in the ass who whines all the damn time. I'm not useful for anything. At first I used to bring him coffee, but now? I don't do anything.

"Why?" I asked as Sam looked at me in confusion.

"Huh?"

"Why do you still take me from place to place when you know very well I don't do anything"

I was waiting, but got no respond from him. Mr. McGrumpy was now looking at the view in front of us letting out a long breath and not saying nothing even though he knew well I was waiting for a respond.

I cough as a sign for him to talk, but still, he said nothing and that pissed me off.

Why? I want to only know why.

"Sam, why?" I asked, but again he didn't respond.

Okay he's getting on my nerves right now.

"Sam wh-"

He cut me off by putting his finger on my lip as I blushed.

"Stop it Natalie, you are being annoying" He said as I sarcastically laughed. 

"No, you are being annoying. WHY THE HECK DID YOU HIRE ME IN THE FIRST PLACE WHEN I ANNOY YOU SO MUCH"

Mr. McGrumpy clenched his fists looking at me dead in the eye "I didn't wanted to hire you. IT WAS ALL A DARE, ALL A DARE NATALIE"

My eyes widened open as my heart dropped to my chest.

All a dare? It was all a damn fucking dare?

"WHAT KIND OF DARE WAS THIS SAM HUH?" I said bursting out in anger as he groaned looking up at the sky and then back at me.

"I WAS DARED TO HIRE THE FUCKING FIRST PERSON I SAW AT THE BUS STATION FOR 1 WEEK AND YOU WAS THE ONLY ONE THERE. THE SMELLY  DUDE I FIRED DARED ME TO AND THAT'S WHY I FREAKING FIRED HIM"

My hazel eyes met his piercing green ones as I bit my lip "Why? Why the heck didn't you tell me and WHY DIDN'T YOU FIRE ME AFTER ONE WEEK?"

He got up and I did the same as Mr. McGrumpy tried to calm himself down.

He let out a long breath "Maid, I couldn't seem to let you go okay? That's why I didn't fire you. That's why you are still here. I already told you, you are different from other people I've come around to, that's why you are still with me"

I frowned shaking my head "No Sam, I'm no different from other people. I thought you cared, you should have told me it was all a dare"

Sam walked closer to me and our faces were only a couple of inches apart from each other "You though I cared huh? Well you thought wrong. I don't give a shit about you Nat, no one will ever care about you"

I couldn't help it anymore. Those words were like knifes stabbing my heart.

I bit my lip to stop the tears from falling, but it was useless. I could feel the tears falling on my cheeks. I slapped Sam as hard as I could "I QUIT, I QUIT THIS STUPID ASS DARE, I QUIT THE DAMN JOB "

A/N- Oooo drama lmao. Hope you guys liked this chapter. I'm sorry for not updating for more than one damn week, but school sucks xD and I start exams next week and if I don't do good on them I can say goodbye to wattpad till summer

So yeah, that means I won't be much active, but I'll try to update.

And this trashy ass story will come to an end sooner or later so I need your honest opinion on this.
