Chapter 6

me and Darcy sat down in German and two girls came in and sat opposite us ''Maddie, this is Tamsin and Ella, guys, this is Maddie'' Darcy introduced

''oh hi, hey, were you the girl standing with Charlie about 5 minutes ago?'' Ella asked me, i saw Darcy look at me and raised her eyebrows

''yeah, but we're just friends'' i replied

''it didn't look like you were just friends..'' Ella answered

''what do you mean? It didn't look like they were just friends?'' Darcy said getting annoyed

''they looked like they were kissing'' Tamsin said

''YOU KISSED CHARLIE!! MY COUSIN!!! ON YOUR FIRST DAY!!!'' Darcy shouted at me, before storming out of the room.

''No Darcy, you don't understand. I didn't kiss Charlie!'' i said following her out of the room

''TAMSIN AND ELLA SAW IT MADDIE!! 2 AGAINST ONE!!'' Darcy shouted starting to cry ''YOU PROMISED ME YOU'D KEEP AWAY FROM HIM!! WHY COULDN'T YOU!!'' she yelled making me step back

''y-you kissed Charlie?'' Erika said coming through the door ''you kissed Charlie? the person i've fancied since Janruary'' she said

''n-no Eri, i didn't kiss him. we nearly did, but we didn't'' i said

''you nearly kissed him.. so you didn't.. but you nearly did'' Darcy said, i swung round

''well, yeah, but.. we didn't'' i said tears brimming in my eyes

''i can't be bothered anymore'' Darcy said storming down the corridor

''DARC'' i shouted

''DON'T CALL ME THAT'' she shouted back at me

''how could you Madds? you're my sister, my best friend'' she said before walking back into her room. I slumped down on the floor tears streaming down my face. then i heard a voice, an unfamiliar voice

''it's Maddie isn't it?'' the voice said, i looked up to see a boy standing above me

''h-how'd you know?'' I asked him, he held his hand out for me to take

''Charlie, he's my best friend, i'm luke'' he introduced as I took his hand and he pulled me up.

''Maddie b-'' i started

''Maddie Baker, i know. Charlie told me about you. do you want me to go get him?'' he asked me, i nodded ''okay, I'll be 2 seconds'' he said, then he stood in the doorway of Charlie's classroom. about 5 seconds later Charlie came out of his room with his bag, he saw me crying, dropped his bag and ran over to me

''oh my god Maddie, what;s wrong?'' he asked pulling me into a hug

''T-Tamsin and Ella told Darcy i kissed you, and Erika heard, so they've fallen out with me'' i said sobbing into Charlie's shoulder

''Madie, i wanted to apolog-'' Darcy said coming back round the corner, she saw me bundled in a hug with Charlie, ''well then. now i know where i stand'' she said, i couldn't bring myself to look at her, it would kill me. ''just don't talk to me Madeleine. i'll just be Darcy who from now on..'' she said before storming off again. i buried my head into Charlie's head again.

''Luke, go back to French, I'll sort Maddie out'' Charlie said, Luke dashed off and Charlie sat me on a bench outside, ''Madds..'' he said, he sat down next to me and put his arm round me, i rested my head on his shoulder ''i really like you y'know'' he said

i felt a wide smile spread across my face ''I like you too'' i replied smiling, he looked at me and i looked back at him, he smiled at me and we both leant in at the same time, as we touched it was like electricity, and it felt like i'd waited for this moment for centuries.

minutes later me and Charlie pulled apart and we both bit our bottom lip ''Darcy who?'' I laughed kissing him again..

''Maddie, go out with me?'' he said, i nodded at him and kissed him

''does that answer your question?'' i said smirking

''Yes'' he replied... Darcy who? Erika who?
