48. Loyalty and Betrayal

" for the last time, I didn't do nothing to y'all, why are y'all torturing"

" Look Janiyah, I 'ont have time for no games, tell me what the fuck I want to hear and maybe I'll let you go" king said stepping in to interrogate cause they weren't getting nowhere with her

" I- I don't know what you want me to say" she shrugged

King chuckled with no humor behind it " aight" he stood up and grabbed his gun cocking the safety back and pointed it towards her head " ima ask you one more time before I have your brains splatter on this floor, do you have anything you want to tell me?"

Janiyah breath hitch as her heart started racing, she knew king wasn't joking he was ruthless and didn't care

" I-I- I want to talk to Kai'jai" she whispered

" nah, He can't save you."

" please! I trust him"  King scoffed he was getting impatient with her and felt that she was stalling the process.

Just when he was about to pull the trigger Kai'jai step in between then " I got this" He said. king hesitated but stepped back and readjust his gun to safety and walked out the room leaving them there

Kai'jai sat in the seat in front of her and stared waiting for her to start talking

" if you think I won't kill you cause your my girl your wrong, I'll body your ass and leave you in a ditch. Ion fuck with snakes and that's word on my mama."

Janiyah nodded closing her eyes " I know, I just- I'm scared okay"

" you should be, your life on the line" he shrugged " where you been?"

" I-I was over at my mom house and-"

" then why she called me looking for you" Kai'jai chuckled catching her in a lie

Janiyah paused and look down at the ground not knowing what to say, she couldn't tell him the truth cause he would hate her

Kai'jai stood up from his chair and look towards her shaking his head" It's crazy how I ain't see this coming"

" don't leave please! I didn't snitch on no one, I didn't even know you was in jail baby I promise I'm telling the truth." 

Kai'jai scoffed and continued walking towards the exit

" no.no. Kai'jai listen to me please, I took off cause I- I- cheated on you and I felt bad about doing it and I couldn't face you after it, so I went up to my aunt house in La and-" she cried out as tears ran down her cheeks

Soon after she said that Kai'jai turned around and look at her " what you talking about?" He asked stopping near door

" four months ago, when we was arguing, I met someone and We ended up having sex and after it I felt bad I hated myself for stooping that low to hurt you. I couldn't look at you so I distance myself hoping you'd leave me but when you didn't I ran away to la and changed my number. that's why I went ghost not because I ratted you out, I would never I love your ass too much to do that hurting you is like hurting myself"
