"I trust you understand what I'm saying?" The queen said to her hand maid as she stared at the triplets in their crib made of wood and leaves .

"I couldn't possibly your Highness. The princesses need the love, care and training only a mother can offer" Melody, the hand maid said and the Queen smiled sadly
"My days in the castle have been numbered Melody, the people don't want a  foreign woman as a leader ever since Adetobiloba died. Their resistance has been subtle but I sense it in my spirit that my days here in the castle and on earth has been numbered. I trust you with my children and also my life, take care of them" she said and removed three pearls from her skin ; the sign of royalty. The babies began to wail as the pearls chose their new home permanently imbedded in their skin.

"Go Melody, go now they're close by" without looking back, Melody rolled the crib quickly out of the castle but couldn't forget the painful scream of the Queen as they burnt the castle with her in it.
