The meeting (2)

Davis. 

I comported myself and made sure my eyes weren't red before going back into the room and meeting several officers.
"Have you guys been monitoring the videos?" I asked and all the officers scratched their heads sheepishly

How incompetent can these people be!?

I was about to lash out on them when Brad breezed out of the bathroom in a towel and patted my back
"Cut them some slack Davis" he said and I focused in him
"Slack?" I asked and I felt my eyes twitch
"Slack!!? Do you know the gravity of this mission? We are after a murder, the cameras were set up three nights ago!" I yelled at him and I turned to my subordinates
"So tell me why the fuck none of you were monitoring what was going on" I said and they all casted their eyes down
"I thought so" I said and walked towards the bathroom
"Davis" I heard Brad call and I stopped in my tracks
"After that shower, meet me in my office" he said and I rolled my eyes
"Okay" I said and entered the bathroom. I took a quick shower and changed from my former clothes before stepping out.

"Selene" I said and stared at her in surprise while she looked at me blankly. She had changed from her PJ's and was now wearing a while shirt with a purple butterfly design at the center (I got that for her birthday last year) and a dungaree shorts.

"I'm going to explore dad" she said while staring ahead of me and I sighed
"You already explored yesterday Selene" I said and her gaze hardened
"Well I want to explore some more dad!" She said and I scratched my forehead
"Alright Selene" I said and walked closer to her.
"I love you Selene and I love mom, its just me and you" I said and pecked her forehead
"Nobody else" I whispered and she looked up at me
"No one?"she asked and I smiled
"No one" I replied and she held out her pinky finger

My daughter is so cute

I intertwined our pinkies and kissed them
"I promise" I said and she hugged me
"Be back before sundown" I said and she let go and ran out of the room excitedly

Teenagers

The officers were smiling like idiots and I rolled my eyes at them before going into Brad's office
"Yes Brad?" I asked and he smiled
"Sit" he patted the space beside him and I sat down before clearing my throat
"Do you want to propose to me or what Brandon?" I asked to lighten the moment and he laughed
"No, actually its about Selene"
"What about Selene?" I asked and he sighed
"Davis" he drew and I sat up
"Yes Brandon?"
"You're too hard on Selene" he said and I stood up

How dare he?

"Brandon my private life is none of your business"

"Davis" he interrupted and I held my hand

"And how I and my daughter relate certainly isn't" I added angrily and he stood up

"How you relate with her!?" He yelled and switched off the lights
"Bloody hell Davis! How bad could you have related with her to make her cry like this?" He said and played a video.

Selene was there with another girl but the camera was facing the girl's back. They were hugging while Selene was crying

Wow did I hurt her this much?

I sighed and turned to Brad
"Brad, Selene and I are just going through a phase, she'll get over it soon" I said and Brad turned in the lights
"I hope so" he said and my curiosity go the best of me
"The girl that was with Selene in the video, do you know who that is?" I asked and he shrugged making me even more curious
"I have to go somewhere " I said and walked out of his office.

I took my gun with me and kept it in my pocket before dialing Selene's number. It rang for sometime before she answered it and I cleared my throat
"Princess where are you?" I asked and she giggled at the other end
"I'm with a friend" she said before I heard shuffling in the background
"I'm giving the phone to her  dad" she said and I heard another voice
"Hello" the female said and wow her voice was melodious
"Hi" I said and cleared my throat
"Good morning" i said and continued
"I hope Selene isn't bothering you?" I asked and she laughed
"Not at all, she's an angel" she said and I heard Selene telling to hurry making me to laugh
"I'm Mr Mahone" I said ,not adding the officer for safety
"I'm Made" she said and suddenly I heard Selene's voice again
"Don't miss me too much! Bye daddy!" she said and hung up

Selene
Always the friendly one

I went back into the room and monitored the video from the cameras that we planted around the hotel before turning to the officers
"Are you guys saving while videoing?" I asked and they shook their heads

Lord God let me not commit murder today.

"So since the beginning of last two nights till now we have no record what so ever!?" I asked and the all shook

Damn

I checked the time and saw two hours had pass since I started monitoring with them

Ughhhh

"Dad!" I heard Selene interrupt my internal groaning
"Yes sweetie?"
"Come watch my friend sing" she said and pulled me up and out of the room

"Slow down there tiger" I said while Selene pulled me me to the balcony where I made out two girls, one Esther and the other Fade?
