I walked to the bus stop and felt my anger flare when Jay was following me in his car
"Made let me drop you off" he said and I did as if I didn't hear him making him to sigh.

"Yaba! Yaba! Hold your change! Ti e ba fe s'oribu (if you don't want to be unfortunate)" the bus conductor yelled and led people into the bus know as Danfo.

I looked at the thousand naira note in my hand and sighed

This is too much, the bus fair is just fifty naira.

"Baba se e ni changi lowo? (Daddy do you have change?)" I asked an old man and he smiled making me to sigh in relief. I entered the bus and collected nine people's bus fair and paid from my one thousand. The bus conductor eyed me and I smiled sheepishly earning me a loud hiss from him

"Eyin e ko rewa ni, e gbo oro (you are just fine, you don't hear word)" okay just ignore him. I collected my change and the bus began to move. I looked back and noticed Jay's car making me to sigh

He should just leave me alone.

We drove for sometime before I saw the familiar building of our saviour's
"Hospital wa oh!" I yelled and the bus parked in front of it. I came down and sped walked into it.

"Good evening" I greeted a nurse and she looked at me
"Yes how may I help you?" She asked
"I'm here to see Selene Mahone"
"Relationship?" She asked and I sighed

What do I tell her?

"Friend" I said and she eyed me
"Then you're not a good friend" she said and I stared at her in shock
"First room by your right on the second floor" I nodded and was about to sprint off when I felt someone touch me
"Let go of me Jay"
"Why are you in an hospital Made, are you feeling okay?" He asked and checked my temperature. I swatted his hand away and walked to Selene's room.

Thank God he's not following me.

I spotted the first room and knocked before opening it and gasping
"Oh my God" I whisper and walked towards her. Blood was being transfused to her, bandages were in her wrists and plasters covered spots on her arm. I touched her skin and it was cold

If not for the heart monitor she could've passed as a dead person.

I caressed her cheek and felt tears well up in my eyes

What happened to her?

I removed my hand and was about to sit when I felt her hold onto me
"Mom" she whispered and I broke into a sob

I'm not your mom Selene

"Mom don't go, where're you going?" She said and used the little strength she had to hold on tighter to me

Her eyes were closed and twitching

"Don't leave me mom" she said and I broke into tears. She must miss her mother so much. I leaned down and kissed her fore head
"I'm not going anywhere sweetie" I said and slowly removed my hand when I felt her go back to sleep. I turned around and gasped when I saw Davis by the door.

His hair was disheveled and his eyes were red.

He looked like a mess

Like he was going to break down any minute.

"Thank you for coming Made" he said and I took cautious steps towards him
"I know I'm bothering you" he laughed and I frowned
"Mr Mahone"
"You look lovely Made did you do something with your hair" he asked and stepped towards me
"Mr Mahone.."
"Have you eaten? Let's go to the canteen and order something"
"Davis!" I yelled and he stared at me surprised
"Its okay to let it out Davis" I said and I pulled him in for a hug which he returned immediately
"I made my daughter miss her mother so much Made" he sobbed and tightened his hold on my waist
"My daughter is laying there because of me and my carelessness and obliviousness to things" he continued and I patted his back
"Its okay Davis, Selene will pull through, don't worry" I whisper and he kept his face in the crook of my neck
"I miss her so much Made, I miss Tobi so much" he said and I played with his hair, not knowing what to say anymore. He released me from the hug and I used my thumb to clean his tears then smiled. He held onto my palm and smiled through the tears before releasing me

"Thank you Made" he said and leaned towards me making me to breathe faster

He cupped my face and stared at me for sometime before kissing my forehead. He pulled out and leaned close to my lips when the door suddenly opened
"Made!" I jumped away from him at the sound of Esther and quickly turned to her
"It's not what it look like" I said and she glared at me
"Is it?" She asked sarcastically and Davis turned to her
"Esther its not her fault" He said and I sighed

"I was lost in the moment I'm sorry" he said and her gaze hardened
"She's my best friend Davis! You almost kissed my best friend!" She yelled and Selene stirred in her sleep
"Esther let's talk about this outside" he said and she stepped back when he moved close to her
"Don't just don't" she said and turned to me
"Thank you so much Made" she said and ran out of the room.
"Esther please wait!" I yelled and ran after her. We got to the reception and Jay stood up
"Esther, what is the matter? Why are you crying?" Jay asked and I groaned

"Esther please" I pleaded and she ignored me
"Let's go back to the hotel" she said and jay shrugged before standing
"Come on Made" he said and I saw Esther's gaze harden
"Don't worry, I'll find my level" I said and he looked concern
"Are you sure?" He asked and the memory of him denying me in front of everyone replayed in my subconsciousness
"Why do you care! Just go" I yelled and he sighed
"Come on" he said to Esther and they walk out of the hospital together
