12: Breaking Me In Two

Back at the library...

"Where is Mari?"Nino questioned his girlfriend.

"Oh, she went to the restroom," Alya replied while typing.

" Sabrina! " A voice shouted. " Why isn't this project halfway done?!"

" I'm sorry Chloe I didn't know how you wanted it to be completed," muttered Sabrina.

Alya smacked her hands down on the desk before shouting; " HEY LEAVE MMMFFF!" 

"Alya quit it!" Nino hissed. "It won't help anything!"

"Did you say something four eyes?" Chloe mocked.

" Oh why you-"Just as Alya was about to retort, Nino placed a hand on her shoulder and shook his head. Knowing that he was right, the girl relented. " Where's your third wheel?" The blonde commented.

"Marinette went to the bathroom for your information."Alya sneered.

"C'mon Alya let's get back to work," Nino advised.

"Fine," Alya huffed. 

So the two continued their work, ignoring Chloe's remarks.

A few minutes later Alya was beginning to lose her patience once more.

'That girl is about to get on my last nerve.' Alya thought. 

A few moments later..."Where is Mari?" Nino inquired.

" She should be back by now unless..."Then Alya looked out the window hoping to spot Mari but what she saw was worse." She's talking with King Bee!"The girl shrieked.

" Where?"

" In the park!"

"Well, it doesn't look like they're arguing," Nino observed.

" Yes but why is she there, I mean he broke her heart! Why is she even speaking to him after that?" Nino remained silent.

'Maybe she's trying to befriend him again,' Alya stressed.

" Let's go!" She boomed.

" Wait, ALYA!"

With Marinette and Adrien...

"So what are you designing?" Adrien inquired.

"Just an outfit for summer," Marinette responded.

"Can I see it?" The model questioned." Uh sure." Marinette squeaked and handed Adrien the book. 

The boy's eyes widened at the collection of magnificent designs.

"Wow! This is really good!" The young boy praised as he continued to marvel over the outstanding work.

"Thanks."

"Do you mind if I keep looking?" Adrien inquired.

"Sure," Mari replied.

 But as Adrien continued to turn the pages of the small pink sketchpad he noticed one thing that caught his eye, a small outfit that looked like it could fit Plagg. "Uh, Mari what is this for?" Adrien questioned."NOTHING!" Marinette screeched pulling the book close to her chest. Just as she did that Alya and Nino approached." What's going on?"Alya interrupted.

"This isn't what it looks like!" Marinette looked at her friend with worry.

"Oh really?"Alya challenged. " Why are you hanging out with him?" She spat pointing to Adrien.

"Girl let's go," Alya commanded and grabbed Marinette's hand. "Wait!" But Alya didn't listen.

'I can't take it anymore!'Adrien declared and grabbed Marinette's other hand.

"She isn't going anywhere!" He yelled.

"Yes, she is!"Alya roared.

They continued to argue until Marinette had enough. "STOP!" She screamed.

Both became silent as they let go.

"Please just leave me alone!" She cried and ran away.

" Marinette wait!"Adrien yelled and ran after her until he lost her in a huge crowd.

"Oh Marinette," he began as he continued running. "Where are you?" He kept going until he heard a loud crash followed by hundreds of cries for help.
