So first of all thanks to the readers for continuing to read this story. Here is a new chapter. I hope you enjoy it.
That evening Kate and Will had come to collect George and Charlotte an hour ago. Philip would be alright after some time to recover but he was still alive and kicking for his old age. He'd told her he was determined to make it to his 100th birthday and he seemed to be living towards it.
Glen had left ten minutes ago, thanking her for the chance she'd given him in spending some more time with his son. It had been amazing to see them interact with each other, her mind wondering how it could have been more times that which would be considered healthy.
"Mummy who is Glen?" Arthur asked her as they sat on his bed, she'd just finished reading his bedtime story when he turned his head in her direction. "He's someone I used to know, but we didn't see each other for a very long time," she told him in the simplest way that she could, without giving away to much. He was a clever little and it would be up to him to figure out that Glen was actually his dad.
"Are you not going to see him for another long time?" he asked her as she shook her head from side to side. "I hope not little man," she told him, wrapping her arms around him and holding him against her. Despite how much it would hurt her to have him around, knowing she couldn't give and lose her heart more than she already had. It would be lovely for Arthur to have his dad around though. And she needed to think about their son.
"Where did you know him from?" Arthur asked her. "From school?" he added as she shook her head with a small chuckle. "No, we met each other on a holiday," she told him as she rested her cheek on the top of his head. "You remember when we with Carole, Michael, Kate and William?" she asked him as she felt him nod his little head.
"I met him on something like that," she told him as she felt him playing with her fingers, tracing her nails and putting his nail under her which he tended to do when he was tired.
"And then you came home?" he stated as she nodded her head, placing a kiss on top of his head. "Indeed," she whispered with a small sigh, she remembered that time. Hopeful and eager to contact Glen again, still in the trance they'd been in from Greece. She'd tried to contact him as she made the move to London in the following week from getting back from her holiday.
"Does Aunty Kate know him?" Arthur asked her as she smiled softly. "No, but Aunty Mia knows him though. We were on holiday together," she told him, it reminded her that she'd have to tell her best friend about the return of Glen. She would come to London and cut his balls off before he knew what happened if she didn't stop Mia.
"Did she like him?" he asked her, looking up at his mum as she tilted her head at them. "They were friends like you and Charlotte are." she told him with a small smile, tapping his nose which made him giggle softly "But not like you and Glen?" He wondered with a thoughtful tilt of his head and scrunched up face which he used when he was trying to figure something out.
"How do you mean?" she asked him, unsure of where this conversation was headed to. "You smile more when he's here. You look at him in a funny way." Her son pointed out, shocking Kate a little. Damn her son for inheriting her observing and studying nature.
"We were friends as well. Why don't you ask Aunty Mia when you see her next?" She told him with a chuckle. Oh man, Mia was going to kill her when she discovered that Kate had pointed her son to her for explanations. Then again maybe leaving it up to Mia wasn't the best idea either. Mia was certainly not one of the subtlest people around.
"I will," Arthur told her with a grin she chuckled whilst shaking her head. "Come on it's time to go to bed," she told him, kissing the side of his head. "I want to see the stars first," he told her as she rolled her eyes before rising from the side of his bed. It had become a sort of tradition between the two of them. Her love with science had started with the stars. and she'd certainly passed that on to him. From the moment he was born they'd go outside to walk during the night when he wouldn't sleep. It had changed as he grew up, starting to point out certain stars and such. By now he knew the most common constellations. It was great that she got to share so many things with him. To share the knowledge she had and to encourage his curiosity in anything. He had inherited her curious nature for information and wanted to know about as many things as he could.
