Thanks for all the comments, I'm glad that I could make you feel the things that I made you feel. Here is the next chapter, I hope you enjoy it.
Kate on the other hand, somewhere in the far reaches of everything, the whiteness around her she'd heard several familiar voices. She was sure she'd heard Glen amongst them, he was somewhere in the far reaches of her though. It was an incredible foreign feeling to her and then it felt like she was being sucked into the darkness again. It was much like a whirlpool in a lake or something, going down to something she wasn't sure had an end to it.
She hadn't heard a single thing when going down the whirlpool before the voices of family and friends had returned to her. She was sure she'd even heard Glen's mum, but how could that be? And then she heard the heart wrecking sobs of her little boy, her little man she loved so much. He was begging her to fight, but she didn't know how or what he was on about. She was so incredibly tired, it was a constant fight to not be sucked down by the always present whirlpool. Sometimes she'd let go and ride if for a moment and then she'd be back fighting the pull of it all. She could hear Glen and Arthur crying beside her somewhere, both of them begging and begging. Maybe going down the whirlpool was indeed the answer to it all. Maybe it was like going down a slide and everything would be better, yes that would be the plan.
But the moment she did, she realised that going down the slide might not have been the best of plans.
She was standing somewhere in a white room, with an almost white fluffy carpet beneath her feet. She let out a small giggle as she curled her toes in the soft fabric of it.
"It isn't your time yet young one." she heard a warm eternal voice say in front of her. Lifting her head she looked into a warm glowing faceless being right there in front of her.
"I just went down the glide," Kate admitted with an almost childlike enthusiasm and excitement. "No Kate you're dying, in fact, your heart has stopped beating and you don't have a lot of time to return anymore." The eternal voice informed her as she looked around her, but all she could see and feel was a warm bright white room and feeling. And then the room around her started to change, first, it was a blur of things and then she realised that she was in a hospital wing.
There right in front of her was a hospital bed, she recognised her own body lying on top of it. Tubes in her mouth, connected to her body, doctors and nurses surrounding the bed she was laid on. The doctor was pressing her chest and shocking her body and she saw that it lifted the tiniest bit of the bed.
"Isn't it better to stop?" Kate heard and saw one of the people stationed beside the bed ask the doctor doing the compressions.
"This is the adoptive daughter a future king, the sister of another one. I don't want to give up without trying everything, we keep going." she heard and saw the doctor say as someone replaced him to continue the compressions and maybe it was her imagination but she could feel the smallest of pressure on her chest. She even felt the slightest pinch as she watched the doctor press a huge needle going into her chest before they continued to perform CPR.
"I'm dead," Kate whispered in a sudden realisation, her head starting to shake from side to side as the faceless being stood beside her. A warm, goldenish glow, so warm and inviting she wanted nothing more than to walk into it, for the pain to stop, to stop everything she was seeing and feeling. All she felt right now was a coldness and a such a sadness seeping into her.
"Don't." The voice called out, making her jump up a little, as if she knew what she was thinking and about to do. "Before you decide to join me, you have great things ahead of you, but only if you make the right decision. I already told you it isn't your time yet. You have a great deal of things to do still, more than you've already done. You're one of those people who's able to change the world if she wanted to. But that choice is all up to you." The voice explained to her in an almost echoing yet so warm voice. Without even making a move, they were moving ahead through the curtains and into the hallway.
