Thanks for your incredible comments and such. this story is close to my heart and it warms my heart to know that so many of you love this story so much. This chapter will contain some drama and it's probably a turn over as to what you expected to happen. But for the future of this story something needed to happen and I figured it was up to date with the world we live in today. So please enjoy it nonetheless and I hope you'll still like it.
A week later and it didn't seem like things had calmed down a lot lately. They'd gone to Ireland to inform Glen's family that they were expecting their second child, now that she'd passed the 12th-week marker. Her own family had been informed as well, her grandparents and mum had been invited over to Ireland. It was two birds with one stone. The Royals had figured it out all by themselves either on the wedding or the rest had figured it out at the Trooping the weekend before. Kate was also going to inform the board members that evening during the board meeting. Not much would change, she'd taken on the role as director a few months ago now. she still worked a lot, she would just work from home when the baby was born. Her predecessors had worked less than she had without a doubt about it. So she hoped the board members wouldn't take to unkindly to her second pregnancy. Even with her first pregnancy, she'd worked right up to her due date and birth of Arthur.
Walking along the museum with Miranda, the new expedition and wing were to open the day after tomorrow and they were arranging all the last preparations for it.
Her bump was getting harder and harder to hide and she'd resolved to carry baggy clothing. Her current dress had an overlap around the waist, it was a beautiful dress and it didn't seem like she was hiding anything at all. So that was an upside to things as she made her way through the astronomy wing of the museum. It was situated in the museum and looking around she was amazed by everything that was present. It was the first new wing and exhibit that she'd put together and she was excited to see what the people would think of it. She'd always thought that the museum missed an astronomy wing, and now that had been rectified.
"You sure?" Kate asked one of her new assistants as they walked through the hallway leading to the new wing. they were opening so soon and she wasn't sure if she was ready for it. Catherine would be there the day after tomorrow to open the new wing and she couldn't wait for it. But the nerves were very much present, it would be the first renovation with her as director.
"Yes, everything is being cared for and taken care off. You don't have to worry about anything. the caterers are meeting with you this evening in order to go over everything one last time." Miranda explained to her as Kate nodded her head in a bit more of a relaxed manner as she adjusted her binders in her arm. "Alright then." Liv sighed in a relieved manner, her shoulders dropping a little in relief as they entered the Hietze hall, wiping a bit of the dust away. She was laughing with Miranda when they heard the gunshots around them. Turning her head in the direction of where the noise was coming from. They were horrified to find four guys carrying guns and masks as they started to shoot down the place. Pulling Miranda down with her they hid behind the central reception desk. A rib from above them, coming from the Blue Whale hanging above them coming down as Kate leapt for a little girl. she wasn't even thinking about her own safety or that of her child. All she could see was the little girl about to be crushed or shot. Either way, she had to save her as she held the bawling girl to her chest. Her own hand coming to cover her bump as she thought of the small baby growing inside of her.
When they heard the same sentence being repeated over and over again in Arabian, they realised what was going on. It wasn't hard to figure it all out, after all, the museum was under a terrorist attack and all they could do was endure through it and hope that they wouldn't get killed whilst they hid.
"We need to get as many people into the hallway leading to my office Mir," Kate told Miranda at her side as she tried to comfort the bawling little girl in her arms still. Her pointing in the direction of a woman about her age made Kate think that it was her mother with a bullet in her head, bleeding out on the museum's floor. 15 meters away from them was the steel door that led them to her office that of her people and eventually the labs.
