"good morning baby" colby whispers into my ear as i roll over to look at him. i sit up in bed and rub my eyes. i'm confused as to where i am.

i realize i'm in colby's room as my eyes widen.

"colby! what the hell happened last night?" i yell, trying to piece things together.

"well you were tired, and i wasn't going to leave you sleeping on the couch downstairs, so as you fell asleep i brought you in here."

"what if corey was to see us? what would we have done?" i snapped, getting into my clothes as quickly as possible.

corey's my big brother.

my very protective big brother.

a few years after he moved out to LA, i moved out here too. i have my own place, but since i became best friends with his girlfriend, devyn, i've been sleeping over at their house a lot more.

when corey agreed to help me out when i moved out here, he made me agree to never date any of his rommates. he said it'd be too weird for him and wouldn't work out in the long run. one time, he saw sam and i hugging when i had a bad day, and corey got so freaked out that i was scared to come back to the house for two days.

but even that fear didn't stop me. colby was one of the people to help me move into my apartment when i first moved here. we've been really close friends ever since, and started dating three months ago.

we've been very careful to hide it from corey. especially since corey and colby are so close, we don't know how he'd react.

no one else knows. we considered telling sam and kat, but it's not worth the risk.

"y/n, stay here. corey won't be mad. all he needs to know is you got scared sleeping downstairs so you came and slept on the couch. nothing else. he would be happy because i was being nice. don't worry so much." he soothed, pulling me back into the bed.

"i'm gonna go make breakfast."

"okay, we have plans for today so we'll leave in like an hour"

i didn't know what the plans were, but i just wanted to get downstairs as soon as possible, before corey could suspect anything.

i walked downstairs to see corey standing in the kitchen. i know i'm going to be asked 100 questions.

"hey y/n" corey smiled at me. "where'd you come from? i didn't hear the front door open and it's early."

"oh um, i stayed here last night. i was too scared to sleep down here alone so colby let me sleep on the couch in his room." i stuttered.

"did anything happen between you two?" he questioned, raising his eyebrows.

"no, definitely not. ew. that'd never happen. he was just being nice." i lied.

i started to make some pancakes for everyone and hummed along to music in my head. i ended up with a huge plate of pancakes that i left on the island for everyone to get as they woke up. colby stepped into the kitchen, still shirtless, making me blush.

"hey b- buddy!" he saved himself thankfully. if he would have called me babe in front of corey, all hell would break loose. "y/n, can we go to the store later? it's my turn to get groceries for the house and you're much better at that kind of stuff because i get too distracted." he lied straight through his teeth.

"sure" i agreed, barely looking at him. corey didn't suspect anything, so i think we're good for now.

i went back upstairs to get changed. i kept some of my clothes here since i slept here so often. i went to colby's bottom drawer and pulled out some clothes. black leggings, a white and gray striped top with a maroon bralette underneath. it was a bit chilly out, so i put my jean jacket over it.
