Day one

I had forgotten how tiring talking with people was.

One Hufflepuff girl - Laurel - was extremely talkative. She wanted to know everything, talk about everything and was courious about my life so far. My roommate, Cecily Wentworth, told me that she was her best friend and would be sleeping in the dorm too - she just came a little late from dinner, apparently doing something I didn't want to know.

After seeing her grin when Cecily said that, I decided I really did not want to know.

I put on my pajamas and got to bed, thinking about the prophecy. The "between water and earth innocent and guilty will fall" worried me almost more than finding the ruby.

Somebody was going to die. Somebody innocent that probably didn't have anything to do with Khione and her rage about a lost ruby. Honestly though, who in their right mind placed and important item like this in the entrance ? Why didn't she hide it?
I still thought about it when it was way past midnight, but eventually sleep claimed me.

When I stepped down into the great hall for breakfast only a few students were there. I checked my clock. Six in the morning.

"Miss?"

I turned around and saw a houseelve with big violet eyes and curly brown hair in two buns - rather unusual according to the books, as they claimed that Houseelves were nearly hairless creatures. They were tiny elves that mostly worked for wizards unless one let them free by giving them clothes. They had their own kind of magic, one that wizards were unable to understand. I personally thought that it was cruel from the wizards to hold them against their will, but some houseelves didn't even want to be free. I didn't have to worry about the one standing in front of me though : she had a wide white shirt on, along with a jeans skirt and a pair of adorable Hogwarts socks.

"Who are you?", I asked.

"My name is Daisy, Miss." I smiled and held out my hand.
"Nice to meet you Daisy. I am Niela Ele - "

"I know who you are", she said, as if I insulted her. "Everyone knows. Niela is the daughter of goddess Hecate."
My, even the Houselves knew who I was. Weren't Halfbloods a common thing at Hogwarts?
"What can Daisy give you? You see, Miss, Daisy is actually not allowed to come and talk with Miss. They told me not to bother you. 'Stupid girl, Daisy you cannot go there' they say, but I couldn't resist!"

She looked at me, waiting for an answer.

Oh shoot, I forgot to say something.

"Uhm, it's okay, the stuff that's there is perfectly fine.", I said. Daisy didn't seem to accept no for an answer and bugged me until i asked her if there was any coffee - preferably a Latte Macchiato. She smiled and clapped her hands in excitement. "Of course Miss, of course! Daisy is happy to serve such a nice witch."
Then she vanished.

I loved the patronus-charm. Our teacher, Madam Churchill, taught us with the assistance of two seven years that came back to finish their education after the second wizarding war. Apparently the two of them were the 'hottest students at school', if one believed what Laurel said. I did understand why she said it though; Tom had explained the second wizard war, as well as some of the bigger roles role Hogwarts student player in it. The golden trio (Hermione Granger, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley) played major roles in the process of eliminating Lord Voldemort - after hearing the whole story though, I felt like Dumbledore had quite a lot of influence in Voldemort's defeat. He was the genius behind the plan.
As time flew by I noticed how many girls (and boys) were staring at Harry. It seemed like they melted every time he stood a few meters away, observing the class. I understood, he's attractive and a hero, but why'd they almost scream every time he came around?

'Expecto Patronum', I said, now for the sixth time, and a creature with the body of a rather small lioness and long beautifully patterned wings.

"A Lionbutterfly", Madam Churchill said, when passing by. "Rather unusual for a patronus.. but it's quite adorable, isn't it?"

I nodded, and a grin slowly spread across my face. Quite adorable, indeed, just like the teacher had said.

I got lost after the midnight lesson in the astronomy tower. The stairs moved and I somehow ended up in an unknown corridor on the fifth floor - even though I was heading for the Hufflepuff dorms, which were near to the kitchen, far down stairs.

I was looking for stairs that led down to the kitchens, when I heard someone cry. I turned around, but couldn't see anything. The person started crying even louder and I followed the noise.

The face of a little girl with long brown hair that she wore in pigtails, was forced up from the slender hand of her bully.

"It wasn't me, really, I swear!", the girl cried.

"Fine. I believe you.", the bully said, her long, sharp and black nails digging into the little girls' skin. "But you know who it was. Tell me, and I will never bother you again."

"H-How do I know that you'll keep your word?", the little girl said, her voice sounding a little bit calmer than before.

I stepped closer to the scene, trying not to make any noise. I couldn't recognize any of the people there. The bully turned out to be a tall girl with short black hair and the Slytherin emblem on her tie.

The smaller one, maybe eleven years old, was a Slytherin as well - the snake throned proudly on her black-green striped bow tie.

"I never break my word", the older witch said. "Unless it benefits me in some way. But I need these informations so it wouldn't be very beneficial for me to betray you, would it?"

The little girl seemed to think of this as an acceptable answer. "It was Rob Fernandez. Third year, Slytherin. Nott bullied his little sister in Hufflepuff, so he wanted to get back at him."

"And who else? I know you're protecting someone.. someone from another house, I believe. This person shouldn't be worth the trouble you'll get if you lie to me.. so tell me - who else?"

The small girl kept silent.

Black nails digged into the small face again. "Say it al-"

"I'm sorry", I said, and stepped out of the corner I was hiding in. " But what, pray tell, are you doing?" "That is none of your buisness", The bully snapped. Her brown eyes examined my stature and she seemed to recognize who I was. "Don't think you're too special just becasue of your heritage. You're basically a muggle, knowing nothing about the wizarding world. Pathetic."

"I could say the same about you", I answered calmly.

The girl scoffed. "I am proud of being a pureblood, which has nothing to do with -"

"Your heritage?"

She seemed to realize her mistake and stopped talking.

"Look, you're wasting my time as well as yours. Blood purity is one of the most stupid things I've ever heard of; and as you can see, your only digging your own grave by keeping on insiting that pureblood pride is something else than pure nonesense." I turned around to the eleven year old behind me. "What's your name?"
"Esmeralda Lorence, but you can call me Esme." "Alright Esme", I said, suddenly feeling tired. "Let's go to your dorms then. What's that girl's name?" "Pansy Parkinson." "Good to know." And so we walked downstairs, leaving a shocked Pansy Parkinson behind.
