Bye James

I do not want to see James, I do not want to hear all the stuff he knows.

This is my 7th day sitting in the back of the courtroom, just sitting listening to my name being thrown left and right. Aiden's name has been disparaged like no other. Aiden has been at work, but he is coming today, just as moral support. I have to testify my story about James and I don't want to. I wanted Kai to be there, but I want to respect the process and my baby likes to cry. We left Kai with Nicklaus and Gevene hopefully they are fine. Gevene is amazing but Nicklaus not so much.

Aiden's lawyer has been helping me prepared for taking the stand. I am not testifying on everything just on my relationship with James and my mother. I do have a mother so that should be the relationship status, but the judge won't accept that.

"Sonneblume, it is almost time" Aiden whispered my ear, holding my hand.

"I cannot do this Aiden, I thought I could, but I can't, I do not want to look a-" Aiden quickly puts his hands on my face and pulls me close to him.

"You have to Sonneblume, It, you are being forced. If I could stop it, I would. You need to do it and you know can do it." His whisper got softer and softer as his voice breaks.

There is nothing we can do, I have to do. The prosecutor looks at me and nods, that was the signal. Slowly taking a breath, I give Aiden a quick peck and get up and walk to the podium.

I tried not to turn as I was being sworn in, but I caught a glimpse of James and now I am very scared. He is smirking at me, laughing at my fear but if only he knew I wasn't that fearful, I am stressed that I needed to do this.

The prosecutor walks up to me and he nodded, here we go I guess.

He asked the basic question and how I meet James and how we chose to be friends. Then he started to ask about Aiden, James and me.

"Melody, would you say that Aiden and James hated each other, and did this affect your relationship?"

"They did not have a good relationship, they have known each other for more than 10 years and have never got along. I do not believe it started with me, but It involves me for sure. James was my best friend at the time, so it was not a big concern"

The prosecutor looked at me and smiled and asked" Did you know James was involved with drugs"

"No, I had no clue"

"Did you know your boyfriend has a business relationship with James?"

"James made me believe he was a simple teacher, not a multi-million drug seller"

His defense lawyer of course objected, and the judge accepted it. The prosecutor was asking me more question and I was fine. It wasn't as bad as I thought then he asked about my mother.

"Did you have a clue about your mother being associated with James?"

"I have no relationship with my mother. She left when I was 2 years old and never came back so no. I actually had no clue that she knew I lived in California".

"Did you know about James wanted to hurt Aiden Schulze for money because he was ordered by your mother?"

"I had no clue, and nor did I want to know"

"Did you ever love James, Melody?" I felt a lump in my throat and bite my lip. Aiden just gave me a soft smile, knowing the answer is going to hurt him a bit. But I need to tell the truth. I looked at James and for once he wasn't smiling at all, he looked so serious. I smiled at the prosecutor and let out a sigh.
