Sorry if you were expecting another chapter because this isn't really a chapter in the story. This is more of a background knowledge chapter because throughout writing this story I've left some questions, like what is the UNSC doing here or why was the Spartans created in my crossover universe. So please enjoy.

UNSC History

After the Omnic Crisis was put into an end by Overwatch. The organization evolved into an global peacekeeping force and an engine for innovation, making advances in scientific fields ranging from space exploration to medical research.

The United Nations decided to use Overwatch engine to created the United Nations Space Command or bettered know as UNSC. This type of government was a military, space exploration and scientific agency. With the UNSC, humanity was able to start to colonized planets and start to develop medical research which would lead to the ORION Project then the Spartan II Program.

After the fall of Overwatch the United Nations turned to the UNSC as their main military source. With more funding money for the UNSC they were able to create more military vehicle, equipment, weaponry and soon Spartans.

Vehicles like the Mantis and Cyclops which were the first ever mechs created and used in combat. With rising Omnics attack in Korea, the Korean Government was given the basic plans of the Mantis and Cyclops from the UNSC to create their own affordable mechs for their new program Mobile Exo-Force Of The Korean Army (MEKA).

Spartan II Program

The returning of the Omnics and a new terrorists organization know as Talon started to grow as a global threat. The United Nations turned to the UNSC to create human super soldier in order to stop the new threat since Overwatch was deactivate.

The ORION Project was the UNSC first attempt in making super soldiers using 5 adult volunteers. The Project was a complete failure and the program was latered deactivated because all 5 candidates early augmentation were deemed ineffective. They were latered reassigned to the military and a year later all 5 candidates died.

The ORION II Project, later renamed Spartan II Program because Dr Catherine Halsey (the new director of the program) wanted to distant her programs apart from the ORION Project, the II was used to honour the sacrifices of those who came before.

The program took a radical turn, instead of adult volunteers, the program would use 6 years old children because unlike adults they could be easily indoctrinated by choosing candidates from a select gene pool and their young bodies would be more adaptable to augmentation. This ensures only the best of the best.

Halsey and the Spartan II Program would find and observe potential candidates and decide which ones would be conscripted into the Spartan II Program. She later identified 150 potential candidates, but that number had to be reduce to 75 due to budget cuts.

75 children were secretly abducted across Earth and replaced with flash clones that would die off to hide their disappearance. For 8 years the candidate would be trained physically and mentally for war, learn military history tactics, strategies and more.

By the age of 14 the candidates entered the second phase of the program, augmentation. These candidates received risky and invasive surgeries in order to enhance their natural abilities.

These included

Occipital Capillary Reversal to enhance their vision even in the dark.

Carbide Ceramic Ossification coating their bone with carbide ceramic making them virtually unbreakable.

Catalyst Thyroid Implant which released a growth hormone to boost skeletal and muscle tissue growth.

Muscular Enhancement Injections to increase muscle density.

Superconducting Fibrification of Neual Dendrites resulting in a 300% increase in reflexes.

The augmentation procedure unfortunately had side effects, out of all the 75 candidates only 33 made it out alive and intact, 12 were severely crippled and 30 died. The 12 severely crippled were later had to retrained and needed a second dose of augmentation in order to become proper Spartans. A small funeral was held for the 30 candidates that died.

Project MJOLNIR

After the Spartan II's augmentation they were all fitted with the latest MK IV Mjolnir Powered Assault Armor which provided incredible protection while also furthering enhancing their ablity by a multiple of five

The Spartan II's were a signed into Coloured Fireteam and deployed in there first battle against the Omnics. The battle was an easy victory for the humans, and the news of a new type of soldier made its way to the public where a young Hana Song was determined to be the best mech pilot and fight for her country. With the public knowing about the Spartans, there were two sides to them, one was that people saw them as military hardware while others believed they were humanities next step.

After countless losses for the Omnics, they later watched the Spartans perform and study there moves in order to counter the new threat. They created one prototype codename "Demon Killer" which was a big hulking tank which could handle alot of punishment. This Omnic was successful in taking down (Colour) Team and wounding Spartan (S/N)
(Y/N) (L/N), but the Gauss Cannon and Spartan Laser was able to counter the Omnic.

With words of a Spartan causltes spreading throughout the world. Development of a new Mjolnir Armor was in progress. Using technology from Reinhardt energy shields and others like it MK V introduced recharging energy shields which added another layer of protection. MK V also introduced many new upgrades.
