Chapter 16

Elena’s POV

When I shot up and gasped for air, I felt different. I wasn’t scared I felt brave and strong. I saw Louis with veins under his eyes and his eyes red. I looked at the boys and they were the same. I didn’t want to hide. Instead I went upto Louis and slapped him round the face and said,

“You should be ashamed of yourself. He didn’t know Rebekah was going to get involved. You should have told me that I was a Petrova Doppelganger. In fact, considering your current status with the veins and red eyes, I bet you cant help yourself but want to drain me dry. Well guess what? You don’t scare me. If you come anywhere near me and try it...” He interrupted me and said,

“You’ll what?” I smirked. I pushed my hand into his chest holding his heart. I said,

“I will personally rip your heart out. Your choice.” I took my hand out of his chest and walked home. I knew the boys were right behind me. Once I was by the house door I opened it and went in. I slammed the door in their faces. I let out a little snicker. I went upstairs into my bedroom and laid down on my bed. I looked around trying to find my phone. I haven’t seen it in ages. I shout,

“Louis! Get here now!” He immediately came to my side. I looked into his eyes to see them pitch black. ‘Great! He’s a shadow! No remorse! Urgh! He’s an idiot!’ I said,

“Can I have my phone?” He nodded. I was a little taken back by his response. Usually, he would say no. He gave me my phone. I grabbed it off of him and I broke eye contact with him. He then said,

“What are you doing with your phone? Who said you could have it? You were specifically told no phone.” I looked at him with a smirk on my face. I stood up and said,

“You did Louis. I looked into your eyes and asked if I could have my phone and you nodded then gave it to me.” He looked confused.

“Of course! You’re a Doppelganger now! Your powers are developing.” I smiled and jumped up and down happily. I announced to Louis,

“Get the boys here! I want them here now!” He went off and came back with the boys. The veins started appearing under their eyes and their eyes going red except for Louis’. Instead his eyes were a darker red than the others. I guess that’s what happens when they are shadows.

“As you all know. I am now a Doppelganger with developing powers. So if you dare try anything that makes me angry, sad or feel anything bad, I will make you lives a living hell. Got it?” They nodded. I said,

“Great. Now get out.” They stood up and walked out. I laid back down on my bed and grabbed my phone. I was surp I was surprised Louis didn't take it back off me. I opened facebook and saw a news report. It said, 'Missing Caroline Forbes has now been catorgized as dead. It's been a few months since she has been missing and there is no track of her anywhere. Also Elena Gilbert has been missing for a few months if anyone finds her please report it to the cops.' I smiled. This is my time to call the cops and get free. I go into my bathroom and lock the door. I turn on the shower and leave it running. I dial 911 and a woman picks up and says,

"Hello. What is your emergency?"

"Hi. It's Elena Gilbert. The girl that has been reported missing. I'm alive but I'm being held hostage. I am at 55 Ackers Road." (A/N: Not a real address)

"Ok Elena. Police are on their way now."

"Thanks." I hang up. I undress and get in the shower. I play music. To be exact I'm listening to One Direction. I might hate them but I love their songs. The song playing was 'Gotta Be You'. I start to sing along.

I heard sirens outside. So I got out and got dressed quickly. I run downstairs to see the boys getting handcuffed and getting out into the cop car. I smile but I put on tears and walk to the officer that I knew. It was Officer Damon. I say,

"Thank you for saving me."

"It's ok ma'am. It's our job." I looked at the boys and smirked. The cop car went off. Officer Damon said,

"Well Elena. Would you be able to come down to the police station and make a statement?" I nod and I get into a different cop car and we make our way to the station.
