Are You Afraid?

Chapter 20

Zayn's POV

Elena had climbed upto the top and I couldn't see her. About 10 minutes later I smelt blood. To be exact. It was Elena's blood. I then heard her call my name. I didn't see Elena but saw a puddle of blood. I gulped and looked up. About half way up the tree I saw Elena's body. I then gasped in pain and clutched my stomach and back. Then a hole formed from the middle of my back to my stomach. It was the mate thing which means Elena has something going through her stomach. I climbed up and saw a branch through her. She had already blacked out. I lifted her body of the branch and she groaned in pain which meant she was alive. I jumped down and placed her on the floor. I then saw the boys looking at her in shock. I said,

"Don't just stand there." They didn't move. Her wound started healing and once it fully healed, she shot up. We took her into the house and sat her on the sofa and we sat opposite her. Louis said,

"What the hell Elena?! You could have died! Why the hell did you do that?!" She looked confused.

"What are you on about? I was climbing a tree and a hand grabbed my foot and pulled it and I fell. But the thing is no one was there." Me and the boys shared glances of confusion. Louis was still a shadow. I wonder how long it would be until I turn into a shadow. I suddenly felt pain engulf my body. I hid it from the rest of them so they don't worry. They all looked at me and I smiled. Harry then said,

"Guys. We have a concert here in 2 hours so we have to be there now. Lets go." We all nodded. I held Elena's hand and we walked out the door. I put Elena on my back and we vampire sped to the arena. We got there and were immediately pushed into the dressing room. Elena was pushed into our chill out area. After getting put into clothes we had to go on stage. I still felt painful so I grabbed a bottle of water and drank it. Liam was introducing us. I sat at the side for a bit. I saw Niall approach me. He said,

"You okay Zayn?" I didn't want to worry him so I nodded and said,

"Yeah mate. I just feel a bit dizzy." Of course he didn't buy it.

"Zayn... I want the truth." He said abit annoyed. I sighed and said,

"Okay fine. It's happening. I don't know how long it takes but I have been like this for about 2 to 3 hours." I saw Louis approach me with a smirk.

"What's the matter Zayn? The pain of turning into a shadow getting to you? Don't worry not that long to go. Maybe bout 30 minutes until the transformtion is complete. It's ok. You don't feel pain after it. I got contacts for all us boys. I have mine in. Here are yours." He took out a pair of brown contacts from his pocket and handed them to me. I sighed and put them in just in case I transform during the show. I stood up and we went to our places on stage. We sang for about 30 minutes and that's when I felt no pain. I was a shadow.
