Outsiders (DBH Connor x vampire!OC)

Chapter 10

"Connor, please send Hank a message that we are at New Jericho. Just in case he has questions and stops by to be met with silence."
Connor gives a verbal affirmative.

Simon and Markus are silent in the back, almost waiting.
"What's wrong?" Faith asks as she sees them talking via interface, their faces worried.

"It wasn't an unanimous vote for you to join. We are worried how those that voted against you might act."
"I'm used to being rejected based on who or what I am. I can handle it."

"Just in case, you'll get a room on the same level as we, North and Josh have one."
Faith nods and parks the car next to the building that is New Jericho.

They help her carry her bags as they walk in.
Josh waits for them outside at the entrance.
"Some are unhappy." He says as he sees them approach.

"They can suck it up. I'm tired and I really need a moment of sleep, please." She looks over her shoulder to Markus and Simon.

They walk in front of her, knowing the vampire and detective android will follow.
Walking in they are met with some androids standing there, anger on their faces.

"We are not going to allow her in. It is not safe! What if we have friends over? What if she loses control?" They yell.
Faith sights and mumbles "I'm too tired for this shit."

Connor puts his hand on her shoulder in support.

"Is HE going to stay here too? Oh hell no"
"They must be conspiring something!"
"Who says she is not the serial killer?"

"Can you all please shut the fuck up. You are being ridiculous. First of, leave Connor alone. He does great work PROTECTING you. Now second, I don't loose control that easily, I'm too old for that kind of shit. And lastly,  I am here to protect you. So that I can step in when I hear someone in distress. And most of the time I am at the station for the case. So please, please just let me be and do what I need to do to keep you safe."

Silence.
"Now please, I prefer to settle in, make my timeline again and sleep a little so I can work efficiently."

They let them walk past them. Anger still on their faces.
"I must say that what you did was exceptionally brave and inspiring." Connor says when they all stand in the elevator going up.

"Thanks, I guess."
A ping, elevator doors opening.
Markus leads them to a room.
"You can settle in here. North is finding a fridge big enough for these." Markus holds up on of the bags.

"That's kind, thank you. Where can I find magnet boards?"
"We'll bring them to you." Simon says as he walks in the room and places the bags he carries on the desk.
"Thank you."

Josh follows Simon.
Markus walks in the room too, placing the bags on the desk.
"I have a question."

Faith looks at him expectantly.
"Our Thirium is made to keep us alive, they are dubbed blue blood. We know it is poisonous to humans when they have it in their bloodstream."
He stops for a moment, thinking.

"You want to know if I can feed off of Thirium?"
Faith thinks for a moment after she said the question Markus wants to ask.
"I am unsure. I never tried to ingest Thirium. The scent doesn't make my mouth water or something. Plus, I don't think biting an android is a good idea for my fangs either, since they are very sensitive."

Markus looks up in thought.
"Aren't you curious? Compelled to try it?"
"Not really no. Plus, I don't even think it is nutritious for me. So why bother trying."
He nods. "Thank you for clarifying this."
Faith nods and starts unpacking her clothing in the closet.

When she is done, Simon, followed by Josh walk in with each a magnetic board.
She smiles as she rolls them over to the perfect spot.
With he magnets and pictures she makes the timeline again. Taking a black whiteboard marker she writes down the names of each and every victim, already memorised them.

Next up are the areas written in blue. As is the pattern.

With red she writes down her own notes like 'no scent', 'no fingerprints' 'no DNA found'.
Underneath the last victim she writes down 'pregnant' with an arrow to a note 'no mercy - psychopath?'

"Do you need an extra board?" Markus disturbs her racing thoughts.
"Ah ehm... Maybe yeah. I think."
She looks behind her to see all Jericho leaders looking at her or her work. And an installed giant fridge on the far end of the room.

"What's his killing method?" North asks.
Faith looks back at the board.

"Overkill. Cut the throat, let them bleed out while he stabs them multiple times, slashi... " She stops talking and starts looking through files. Starting up her laptop to be able to see more recent ones.

"Did you find something new, Detective?"
"Faith, but yeah. I did. It's disgusting, really."
Markus rolls in another board. Faith places it next to the ones already there.

With black marker she write 'method' on top before she divides the board. Male, female.
As she writes down all the details, she feels her eyes burn in anger.

The males are killed with their throat cut, multiple times stabbed while they bleed to dead. They remove their tongues and ears, slashing across their eyes. Their cheeks are cut.

The females are killed too with cut throats, bleeding out while being stabbed. Their hands and feet are removed. Sometimes just one, other times both. Their eyelids are cut out before their whole face is cut as if the attacker wanted to skin their faces off.

"Brutal." Even North sounds like she can't believe this.
