Outsiders (DBH Connor x vampire!OC)

Chapter 17

Hank and Faith are doing some paperwork when a bewildered Markus, followed by Simon walks in. Both with a visitor's badge.

"Something is wrong with Connor. We tracked his signal, like he asked us. His signal is gone. We went to the last place where he was and there is nothing."
Simon grips Markus' arm.
"He might be in danger."

"Where was the last signal?" Faith asks, already standing, holding her keys.
"Hey kid, you're not going alone. I drive."
"We'll come with you."

The drive is tense while Hank follows the directions.
Do they already know that she fell for the android? What are they doing to him? Is he okay?
"Faith, you have to calm down." Markus puts his hand on her shoulder.

"I can't calm down knowing something is wrong with Connor. He might be dying!"
Hank stops the car. "Here his signal ended."

Faith is quick to get out of the car and start to take deep breaths to figure out if there is a scent present. She finds Gavin's but nothing else yet.

Following the only lead there is, she tracks Gavin's scent. They lead her to a building and she immediately knows something is wrong.
The scent of Thirium is too much and the blood in the air isn't right either.

She feels her eyes change in response, as do her teeth, fangs, grow.
Knowing Hank is behind her, she doesn't turn around.
"Something is wrong, isn't it?" Hank says, slowly walking next to Faith's tense form.

Simon and Markus stay behind a bit, not knowing what to do.
"You stay here, if the attacker is still there, you aren't in danger." Faith says as she starts walking towards the door she knows will lead her to a horror scene.
Trying to listen in, she hears one human heartbeat, and cracking static.

She kicks in the door and is frozen for a moment by the scent.
Walking inside is pure torture but she holds on, it's for Connor.

"Connor? Gavin?" Her voice trembles, but still is clear enough to be heard.
"Down hear, we need help. Quick!"
Faith calls behind her for Hank to call medical back up before storming down the stairs.

Gavin is tied to a pillar, one hand he freed and is bleeding badly. A bat lays nearby, blood on the end and the attack on the ground. Dead.

She looks to her right. The scene makes her almost loose it.
He hangs there, electricity coursing through his system. She hears how it is frying his systems. His LED is only a very pale red.

Faith is quick to remove the electric wire, feeling the high voltage coursing through her own body. It knocks her to her knees.
Ignoring Gavin's call for her, she stands back up, still feeling unwell and weak. She unties Connor and catches him.

"I'm so sorry." She mutters to him, trying to stop his bleeding.
"Please say something." She whispers.
Nothing only twitching body parts and static.
"I come back for you." She says to Gavin as she carries Connor upstairs.

Markus and Simon are fast to help. Markus already connecting to him to see what is damaged and how bad.
She doesn't wait for an answer before going back down to free the detective.

"What's up with your eyes." Is the first thing he asks when she looks for something to cut the tie-wrap.
"Ignore it." She says, taking a knife from the ground. It's rusty but it could do.

"Hey no, something is wrong with you so you tell me."
"Drop it Reed. It is for your own good."
With the knife and her strength she manages to cut the wire fast. The warm blood cooling on her fingers is difficult. She craves it. Her fangs itching to bite.

She curses and slighty stirs Gavin in the right direction. " Go up, please. "
"Not before you tell me what is up."
"For your own safety, you go up now and ask if Markus or Simon can get me out of here. No humans. Now go before I do stupid things."
Her body is trembling in the effort to hold back, to keep in control.

The electricity that hurt her, caused her body to heal her. She doesn't have much fight left in her.
Feeling the tension in the air rise, he walks up.
