"Alice c'mon! Wake up!" I vaguely hear someone shout frantically into my ear

It takes so much effort for me to open my eyes, and as soon as they were open they started to sting. My eyes were still burning from the smoke in the Room of Requirement

The first face I see is Draco's above me. He was cradling my head, hand resting on the back of my head

"Oh thank god. You're okay" he breathed out, kissing my forehead. I move to get up, Draco helping me

"We need to get out of here" I croak out, my voice hoarse from the smoke. Grabbing my wand from my pocket, I glance around to see Harry, Ron and Hermione gazing upon the scene in front of them with shock and confusion written on their faces; unsure of what they just witnessed between Draco and I

"Did you find what you were looking for?" I ask the three of them. They all nod, still not saying anything

"that's good" I whisper, unsure of what to say as Draco squeezes my hand.

I was about to say something else when the wall behind us gets blown up

"What the hell was that!" I shriek, covering my face and neck with my arms as clouds of dust and bits of rock engulf us.

"Death Eaters. They're in the castle" Draco says, helping me up on my feet

"Alright. Do you still have your moms wand?" I ask. He nods

"okay. Let's go find others"

We sprint down the hallways, and skid to a halt when we see two Death Eaters battling two Ravenclaw students

"Diffindo!" I shout, pointing my wand at the back of one of the death eaters. I didn't quite know how the spell worked, as I only read about it in one of my textbooks. To my horror, blood started to seep through the Death Eaters black robes, staining the cobblestone floors. My eyes widen as I see the damage I had done

"Come on!" Draco shouts, and I drag my gaze away from the Death Eater as I follow him.

When we make our way out to the courtyard, a shiver runs down my spine as I see the scene in front of me.

A few Giants were fighting, swinging their clubs at fighters from the Order as they tried to take them down.

What really made my skin crawl were the spiders. They were crawling everywhere.

One had its eyes trained on me, and started to crawl its way towards me. I let out a squeak of terror before pointing my wand at it

"Arania Exumai!"

The spider was flung backwards, and Draco grabs my hand "c'mon!"

It felt like every single person my eyes laid upon was an enemy. Death eaters, giants, spiders, dementors, they were everywhere. Every time I finished off one enemy, another took its place.

Luckily, I wasn't alone. Draco was there to watch my back, and I his. It was as if we had fought side by side before; reading each others moves, helping one another finish another enemy off, protecting each other.

We were completely in sync

I could feel myself becoming exhausted fast, and it had felt like we had been fighting forever when everything just stopped. No more enemies were trying to kill us, and it was eerily quiet.

We were completely alone.

Draco and I exchange confused glances. He had dirt all over his face from the rubble around us. A small cut on his forehead.

I was pretty beaten, I had a gash on my left cheek, and I had a bleeding nose that just wouldn't stop.

We were about to go to the Great Hall when we heard a scream from the courtyard.

Draco and I run to the courtyard, careful to stop over the broken pieces of the castle and the bodies lying everywhere.

When we made our way to the clearing, my heart stopped.

Voldemort's whole army was standing in the courtyard. Voldemort standing in front of them, a triumphant look on his face

Hagrid was there as well, tied back with ropes.

However what was in his arms brought tears to my eyes.

In his arms was Harry, lying motionless
