Ending 2 part 1

"Alright. Lead the way"

I grabbed his hand in mine, and together we made our way through the castle hallways

The battle was back in full swing, curses flying everywhere. I was about to turn the corner right into a curse when Draco grabbed me and pulled me back. We both fall down on a pile of rubble as I watch the curse go flying by

We both sigh in relief, and scramble to get up. Just then a plumb of smoke came tearing past us and landed in front of us

My heart dropped to my stomach when I realized who it was.

It was the man who killed my father.

I didn't even wait for him to raise his wand when I started shooting curse after curse at him. All the emotions I had been holding back from my fathers death came back to the surface.

My eyes filled with angry tears as I kept shooting spells at him

"Diffindo!"

The spell hit him right on, and I straightened as I watched the man crumble to his knees as a pool of blood began to form around him

I had done it. I had avenged my father.

Draco touches my shoulder "c'mon"

We run through the hallways as fast as we can, trying to find somewhere to wait out the battle.

Suddenly, the Death Eaters started to disappear. Clouds of black smoke in the air as the Death Eaters disappeared into the sky

Draco and I share a confused look, was the fight over?

A few people where running towards the courtyard, so we followed them. When we entered the courtyard we saw Harry standing triumphant, another wand in his hand.

What looked like ashes were floating away in the wind, the wind carrying them away

"Voldemort is dead!" Someone shouted joyously. People around us erupted into cheers, hugging one another

A smiles makes its way to my face as I pull Draco into a hug

"We're free" he whispered to me, burying his head in the crook of my neck. I laugh happily, and pull away from the hug "we're free" I whisper

I kiss him, my arms wrap around his neck. We both break away and look at each other, smiling

Draco rests his forehead on mine, both of our eyes closed. I pull away slightly to look at his dirty face, a cut just over his eyebrow and one on his lip. He examines my face, looking at the gash on my cheek "we should go get our cuts fixed" I nod "although that cut on your lip makes you look oddly hotter"

He laughs and puts his arm around my shoulder, and together we watched as fellow Hogwarts staff and students cheered in joy at the fall of Voldemort

"We really are free" I whisper

Draco kisses my head "we really are"

It had been a year and a half since the battle at Hogwarts. I ended up graduating from Hogwarts after McGonagall pardoned my few months absence.

It was my first trip without my parents. I hadn't really gone anywhere without them, but that would all change.

I had suggested France, but Draco was really adamant on going to North America; and seeing where I had grown up

So low and behold, we were back in my hometown in Canada. Montréal, Québec to be exact. Draco was still amazed that they spoke French here; after all he only thought people from France spoke french.

We had taken a walk through my childhood neighbourhood, and now we were sitting on a park bench watching all the muggles walk around.

It was just after 9 p.m, and my eyes started to feel a little heavy

"We should probably head back" I suggest, noticing it was starting to get darker and colder out. And not too many people were around anymore

We both get up, and I start walking back to where we were staying when I realize he wasn't beside me

"Draco I want to go back! I'm freezing my hands off!"

I turn to see him down on one knee. My eyes widen and I gasp softly

"Alice" He starts out "We've known each other for about four and a half years. And I'll admit, we didn't get along in the beginning" I laugh at that "but the time we did spend together, those nights in the Astronomy tower. I-" he paused, looking for the right words "I've known this for a while now" he looks up at me and smiles, the light from the street lamps giving off a soft glow

"I want you to be in my life. Until the day I die" he smiled "I want to spend the rest of my life with you"

He takes a deep breath "so, Alice Webster. Will you marry me?"

Tears started to form in my eyes, and I was too emotional to talk

"C'mon Alice hurry up my knee is starting to freeze"

I laugh, and I nod my head "yes" I whisper "yes I'll marry you"

He gets up, and puts the ring on my finger. It was beautiful; simple but beautiful

It was a beautiful diamond, and two small pearls were on either side of the diamond. All on a simple silver band

It fit perfect on my ring finger, and I smile at him when I look at it in my finger

"I love you so much" I breath. He puts his hand on my cheek "I love you too, Mrs. Malfoy"

I giggle "it'll be a while yet until you can call me that, Mr. Malfoy"

He smirks at me "I'm just glad you're mine"

I kiss him, my heart full of happiness

"I'm glad you're mine too"
