Taehyung - hurt

Feeling your eyes itch, you scratched them once again not caring of how much of a mess you looked. Hair messed up on a pony tale, dark circles under your eyes and not to mention, your incredibly sore eyes. You sat on the rooftop with your legs bent and one top of eachother, you hands lazily at your sides as you tried to hold back your tears on once again.

You didn't want to cry again. Class was about to start in a few minutes so you didn't want to make it obvious that you cried for hours last night, not that your very sore eyes were obvious enough.

Trying to blink your tears away, you thought back to the words that made you like this in the first place.

"I'm in love with Minju."

Suddenly feeling the water flow down your cheeks. You couldn't stop the uncontrollable tears from falling down your eyes.

Minju was your best friend. And who happen to say those hurtful words was Taehyung. The boy who you were close friends with and also were secretly in love with.

You actually thought you had hope. For him loving you back. But no, like a fool, your comforting yourself. Once again.

Feeling your chest tighten and your heart ache, you finally gave up as you sobbed loudly and let all the tears flow out. Not even caring if anyone heard you.

You wondered. Why can't it be me?

School has just finished. Taehyung walked back to the classroom since he had forgotten his book that he needed to do a report. Just when he entered the classroom, Taehyungs eyes widened in shock and confusion when he saw you in the classroom sleeping. You arms were layered as you rested your head on it. What made him even more shock was the state you were in.

Looking around the classroom, he realized it was only the two of you inside. He quietly sat down beside you and stared at your broken figure.

He didn't like seeing one of his closest's friend in this state. He noticed how sore your eyes were. Did you cry? He wondered and caress your hair. He was worried, worried for his friend.

He wanted to beat up whoever hurt you. He chuckled, remembering when he defended you and got punch in the face when a guy bullied you.

Your eyes fluttered open. The first thing you saw was a worried Taehyung looking back at you. Since you didn't want to worry him, you gave him a small, fake smile.

"Are you okay?" Was the first thing that came out of his mouth. You looked away and hummed, thinking about what he said for a moment.

Are you really okay?

No I'm not. I'm not okay. And I don't think I'll ever be. Was what you wanted to say.

You looked at him "I'm perfectly fine." Once again, you gave him a small smile. He didn't believe a single word you said.

He raised his eyebrows up unsatisfied with what you said. "We've been bestfriends since preschool. Do you think I'll believe that?"

You sighed and looked at the floor, Resting your chin on your arms. "I'm fine." You said barely heard.

"Why were you sleeping? Did you get any sleep?" He asked and rested his chin on the palm of his hand.

No. I cried the whole night because of you.

"We had a test so I needed to study." You lied. Taehyung nodded.

"You know proms coming up..." He spoke. Your eyes had lit up when he mentions prom. Maybe... just maybe he would asked you to go with him.

"And I'm thinking about asking Minju to come with me."

Your heart broke. Shattered, into a million pieces. You could feel the tears well up in your eyes but held them in.

If only you knew how broken I am.

"You can do it." You said, trying to sound happy but failed. But it seems like Taehyung didn't notice. "I believe in you."

His eyes lit up. "Really?" He spoke in happiness. Making you give him a small smile. "Really." You nodded while speaking.

"How bout you? Who are you planning on going with?" He asked. You bitterly smiled and looked down again.

I want to go with you.

All I want, is to be with you.

"I'm not interested in dates." You shrugged and said quietly. Taehyung frowned at that. "What do you mean? Weren't you always nagging at me for the whole year that you loved a guy and plan on confessing to him? It's your time." He said and patted your head.

But that guy is you.

How can I confess to him if he already loves someone else?

"I...lost interest in him." You lied. Looking down once again. Taehyung started laughing at you. "Are you kidding me?" He couldn't stop laughing.

It was as if everything had went in slow motion. His laugh could light up the area. You wanted this moment to last forever. You two, alone, no one to ruin the moment. You stared at him laughing, feeling the corner of you lips going up. You loved him so much. But all you ever are to him, is a friend.

If only this moment could last forever.

If only.
