Chapter 10: Boyfriend

Jaime and Claire sat opposite each other. Jaime ordered the burger and fries while the other girl ordered sushi "I heard their fries are to die for" said Jaime

Claire took some from her plate "They're not that bad" she said munching on Jaime's food "I know this place where they serve the best cheesy fries in the city. I'll take you there"

Jaime smiled "Is this going to be a daily thing now?" she asked

Claire picked up a sushi using her chopsticks but she's struggling "Well, I don't have anything better to do in school aside from the inter-u coming up" she said, "Why? Don't you want the honour of dining with me?" she joked

Jaime saw that the girl was struggling so, she grabbed her chopsticks "Here let me help you" she said and picked up a piece handed it to Claire

"Thanks" the girl replied

"Don't you have friends to hang out with?"

"I do. They're just too busy. And Eric, my boyfriend. He went to Germany as an exchange student but he's coming back next semester, I think. Or the next if he wanted to extend"

"Y-you have a boyfriend?" Jaime asked in surprise

"Yeah, didn't I tell you?"

"Never mentioned it"

"Oh well, he goes to KTU too. We've been dating for a year now actually" explained Claire.

While the other girl was telling stories about her boyfriend, Jaime was just quiet and trying to listen. She don't know why but when she heard that Claire has a boyfriend she felt this strange sensation like she's dissapointed and sad at the same time.

"Hey, are you ok?" Claire asked noticing that Jaime's been quiet

"Yeah" the girl replied "Looks like the burger and the sushi really don't mix well in my stomach"

When Jaime got home she saw Brix on her phone by the pool with a wide grin on her face. Must be texting Ember again Jaime thought "You look happy" she started and sat opposite her sister

Brix looked up "You don't look happy?" Brix countered seating up straight "What's up, you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm just tired" she put her bag down "Why are you all happy and stuff? It's weird"

"Hey! I have the right to be happy too you know" said Brix "But just so you know, Em and I are getting closer I think"

"Just remember if you ever hurt her. We're out. I don't want to go to jail"

"Tell you what little sister. Em is different from the other girl's I've met before. She's... I don't know how to explain it but, I can't help thinking about her. I always want to be near her"

"That's good if you feel that way" said someone behind them. They turned and saw Alex wearing her pilot uniform

"Alex!" said Jaime jumping out of her seat then gave her sister a hug

"How's Hawaii?" asked Brix giving her sister a bro hug "any hot babes by the beach?"

Alex rolled her eyes "None. I didn't go to the beach. And if Sabby knew I went there for the beach and not for work, she'll poke my eye out" replied Alex as she took a seat

"Whipped" Brix teased and joined her sister

"Shut up" Alex answered "what were you guys talking about? It seemed serious" the other two looked at each other

"I... I've been feeling a little weird" Brix started

Alex looked at her worriedly "Are you ok? Have you told mum? She could get you checked"

"No! Not that. I'm fine it's just" she paused "I feel different whenever I'm with Ember. I don't know how to explain it but—"

"Does it feel like you're happy whenever you're near her? Like there's always that jumpy feeling when you get a text from them. You like hanging around them" said Jaime

The two elders were taken aback "Exactly" said Brix

Alex smiled at her sister "It's called love. I feel exactly the same towards Sabby like my day is not complete without seeing her or texting her. Like you would do anything for her, protect her, care for her"

They stayed quiet for a moment "Wait, Jay you're in love?" Brix asked

"What? Me?" Jaime replied "I'm not in love. Why would I be in love? And to who? Claire? No. Well, if I am then. I can't. She has a boyfriend for petes sake" she panicked

The two girls watched their youngest sister "So, she has a boyfriend?" said Alex

"Yeah, they've been together for a year. I can't" Jaime rested her arms on her knees and covered her face

Alex placed a comforting arm on Jaime's shoulder "Don't worry kiddo. Like they always say, if it's for you then it'll come to you"

"You should have seen her face when she was telling stories about them. Her eyes lit up and they know everything about each other" said Jaime

"Then maybe there's someone out there that is for you"

"Maybe" said Jaime and right on cue her phoned pinged. She opened it

Claire: Hey, you free again tomorrow for lunch?

Jaime: Yeah

"Is it her?" Alex asked

"Yeah" Jaime replied

Claire: Meet me after class tomorrow

Jaime: Ok

Claire: See you there! :*

Jaime turned to her older sisters "You know what, Alex you're right. Maybe there's someone different out there for me. To be honest I like Claire and I's relationship right now. And I'd rather have her as a friend of nothing at all"

"When did you get so sentimental Jay?" asked Brix

"Alex you have a visitor" said someone behind them. They turned and saw one of their maids.

"Who is it?" Alex asked

"It's Ysabelle, she's in the kitchen with your mother. I was told to let you know"

"Ok, thank you" said Alex and the woman left.

They all went in "Ysa!" Jaime greeted Ysabelle and gave her a hug. Like Alex, Sabby was also like a second parent for Jaime. She's like their daughter kind of. "I missed you"

"Hey kiddo!" Ysabelle greeted

"Speaking of the devil" said Brix giving her future sister in law a hug "you're here to steal Alex again?"

"Ah Brix, glad to see you haven't changed" Ysabelle countered

"So, what's with the sudden visit?" asked Alex beside her fiancé

"Well, I'm actually here for your mum. She said she wanted to discuss something" Ysabelle replied

Alex pouted "so you're not here for me?"

"Ahaha" Ysabelle faked laughed and pushed Alex's face jokingly "stop doing that you're not cute. Only Jay can pull that face off" said the woman while pinching Jaime's cheeks "why don't we go to the kitchen and eat that cake I got you" she invited the youngest

Alex was stunned so Brix stood next to her "Alex Jr. is stealing your fiancé" said Brix following the pair into the kitchen leaving Alex

"You still love me, right?!" Alex shouted but no one replied
