Chapter 15: Waitress

Jaime watch confusedly as Brix lock the door "what the hell are you doing?" she asked startling the other girl

"Jeez Jay! Stop sneaking up on people" Brix replied

She heard voices inside the room "who's in there?" she asked

Brix placed an arm around her sister and led her away "It's for the better that you to don't get involved in this one lil sis"

Leaning on her car, Jaime's deep in her thoughts when she felt her phone vibrate. She opened it and saw a text from Claire saying she can't come to their lunch session today because she has student council things to do

Having an internal debate about what to reply she typed 'It's fine. Enjoy' and sent it

Having nothing to do all afternoon she went home and to her surprise she saw her eldest sister in the kitchen. She was curious on why she's there and not at work or with her fiancé "Lex?" she said catching the other girls' attention

The older girl turned and gave her sister a smile "Hey kiddo, you're back early" she replied

"Why are you here? Don't you have work?" Jaime asked

Alex shrugged "Dads taking over today and told me to take the day off and Sabby is at her friends" she answered and offered her sister a carton of milk. Jaime accepted and punched it with a straw "You alright?" Alex asked noticing a change in her sister's aura. She's usually bubbly but today she seemed down

Jaime looked up to her sister and nodded

"I don't believe you"

Jaime sighed knowing she can never win against her sister. She always knows when she's down "She bailed on our lunch"

Alex sat down in front of her and sighed "Clingy much? She has a life too you know"

"I know, but having lunch with her was the only thing I've been looking forward to"

"Jay, you have to understand that she also has other priorities than you. She's an SC, and the inter-u's coming up. I know it sucks but you have to understand. You're starting to sound like a possessive girlfriend"

Jaime finished her milk "Fine" she slumped down on her chair

Alex stood up from her seat and grabbed her jacket "Come on, why don't you have lunch with me instead of feeling depressed. My treat" They sat on a booth at a diner and as Alex was in the bathroom a waitress came to their table and asked what Jaime would like.

Alex came back and saw the waitress eyeing her sister. So, she cleared her throat and sat in front of Jaime. The younger girl told the waitress her order and the woman seemed to blush when Jaime gave her a smile and that didn't escape Alex

"I'll have the same" she told the woman. When the waitress was gone, she grinned at her sister

"What?" Jaime asked

"That waitress was checking you out"

"Who, Jenny?"

"Oh, so you know her?" Alex asked

"Well yeah, Claire and I are regulars here"

"And you don't notice how she looks at you?" Alex teased

"Lex drop it. Jenny and I are just friends, I guess. We never really actually talked to be honest" Jaime replied and glanced at the counter where the other woman is

"Why don't you talk to her?"

"Well, I never really had the chance to. I was always too occupied with Claire"
