"Vander…”

Unti-unti kong ibinukas ang mga mata.

The blinding light welcomed me so I closed my eyes again. Unti-unting luminaw ang mga ingay sa paligid, it sounded happy and in a festive mood.

"Vander!"

This time, I opened my eyes. I saw the smiling face of Laura.

"You're awake!"

Mahigpit niya akong yinakap.

I didn't know what's going on. Naramdaman ko ang sakit sa katawan na tila ako nabugbog.

"How long did I fall asleep?"

I saw a worried and uncertainty in her eyes.

"Vanny, a year."

I gasped. Nakita ko ang mga pasa sa katawan ko na tila mga sariwang sugat lamang.

She's kidding me.

"Its not time to joke around, Lau."

"I'm not."

Nilingon ko ang bagong dating sa pinto.

"Im getting cranky, will you two stop messing with me?!"

Nag-uumpisa  na naman ako sa pagiging bugnotin as if my temper getting thinner.

"We're not. You've been unconscious for a year Vander not literally. You've turned into your wolf form that night and imprisoned there.
Ngayon ka lang ulit naka balik sa human form mo pagkatapos ng isang taon."

Napatanga lang ako kay Draco na lumapit sa kama kung saan ako nakapuwesto.

Naramdaman ko ang haplos ni Laura sa mga sariwa ngunit naka bondage na sugat ko.

"We found you in the forest, almost lifeless. What happened to you, Vanny?"

Hanggang unti-unting bumaha ang lahat ng alaala.

Napabalikwas ako ng bangon. Kumirot ang mga sugat ko sa dibdib na ngayon ko lang nahalata pero naglakad ako ng paikaika, aiming to go out of the room.

"Where are you going, Vander?" Pinigilan ako ni Draco sa balikat but I shove him off.

"Cassandra? Where is she?"

Everything is a haze hindi ko alam kung ano ang mga naganap habang nasa wolf foem ako. It happens every time I feel so much pain and traumatised.

"Vander, don't you remember?"

"What?!”

pagalit kung sigaw nang makalabas na ako ng kuwarto.
Nakita ko ang pagdating ni Salva kasama si Jacob.

A strong thud pained my chest. Tinignan ko nang mabuti kung nagsasabi ng totoo si Laura. Her eyes say it all.

Sunod-sunod na rin ang pagragasa ng emosyon na hindi ko maipaliwanag.

"This isn't about me anymore, Vander. It’s about you, Salva, Isabel, Charlie, and everyone else who fought with us. This is the end, and we should end it, right?"

"Any last words, Cassandra?" naalala kong bulong ni Romanov sa kanya.

"Yes. You will not win tonight, Romanov. The light will come out soon and darkness will eat you."

Namalayan ko ang paglambot ng mga tuhod ko at ang tuluyang pagbagsak ko sa sahig.
