Jayfeather lets out a soft purr, which is something [Y/L/N] hasn't ever heard before. "I'll be back in the morning." He trots into the forest once again.
-Morning-
[Y/L/N] stifles a yawn. Todays the day. After feasting on a mouse, she manages to pick up a vole and a squirrel in her jaws before bounding to the border, where Jayfeather is waiting for her; he has been seemingly for a long time. "Jayfeather!" [Y/L/N] exclaims excitedly, quickly dropping her prey. "Let's just go." Jayfeather mumbles and picks up the squirrel. His foul tone doesn't trick [Y/L/N] into thinking he's not happy, as she can see his tail twitching eagerly.
Jayfeather and [Y/L/N] make it into ThunderClan camp, where only Firestar, Lionblaze and Leafpool are waiting for them. "I knew you would come." the Thunderclan leader meows happily. "I'm delighted you're joining ThunderClan, [Y/L/N]." the pretty she-cat purrs smoothly."Hi!" Lionblaze mews excitedly. [Y/L/N] quickly makes eye contact with Firestar and dips her head respectfully. "[Y/L/N], do you promise to live your life as a warrior, live by StarClan's noble code, and protect my clan with your life?" Surprised he isn't doing this in front of the clan, [Y/L/N] responds anyways. "With my life, Firestar. I do." "Your warrior ceremony will be held tomorrow, but you will train with the apprentices. The apprentices will make you a den soon." [Y/L/N] couldn't help but feel a smile spread across her muzzle. "Thank you, Firestar." Not long after, cats began stirring from their nests.
"She came back!"
Excited mewling spread across the camp and R/T/K/N bounded up to [Y/L/N] and bounced around her paws happily. A young orange-y cream cat walks towards her. "My name is Cherrypaw. Molepaw and I will make you a nest in the warriors den!" [Y/L/N] sees a darker young tom behind the small she-cat looking at you with wide, curious eyes. [Y/L/N] brings the vole she caught into the Clan's fresh kill pile, along with the squirrel. A she cat comes towards the two young apprentices and beckons them with her tail, murmuring something into their ears. That must be their mother. Firestar notices you and makes his way through the wave of cats with Jayfeather at his side. "Since you already know Jayfeather from this morning, he's going to show you the territory. You'll need to know if once you start training with the apprentices." "Alright, Firestar." Jayfeather flicks his tail, signaling for [Y/L/N] to follow.
Jayfeather leads [Y/L/N] out of camp and to a lake. "This is the lake. It's free to use by all of the clans," he says smoothly. "It sounds calming." "It is." All of those cats look like they have mates.
Pain flashed in [Y/L/N]'s E/C eyes, and she thinks she sees pain in Jayfeather's too which goes away too quickly to notice. "Jayfeather?" [Y/L/N]'s voice trails off slightly. Jayafeather's head perks up and he twitches his whiskers. "The way you decorated my previous nest. How did you know about how much I like stones as decorations?" The tom was silent for a moment. "Lucky guess," he meowed dryly. I don't believe that for a mouse-tail. Hmph. [Y/L/N] wraps her tail around her paws, studying the lapping waters of the lake. Suddenly she realizes with a jolt of how close she was to the silver tabby, and not even when they shared a nest were they so close; their pelts were almost brushing. "I guess we should go back now," he muttered lazily. "Yeah." [Y/L/N] follows Jayfeather back into the camp, where she sees Cherrypaw and Molepaw, the two apprentices from before. "Firestar, all the moss is wet from the snow, it'll take a while to dry." "Yeah! Will [Y/L/N] be mad at us?" [Y/L/N] could hear Firestar's faint amused and reassuring purr. "I'm sure she'll understand. She will just have to sleep in the medicine cat den until then." Soon Firestar notices [Y/L/N] and Jayfeather, quickly parting from the bickering apprentices to talk with them. "[Y/L/N], your den will be made in a few days. Until then, you are to sleep in the medicine cat den. "Right." "[Y/L/N], go join Brambleclaws hunting patrol and Jayfeather will show you his den when your back." "Okay, Firestar." [Y/L/N] leaps towards where the dark brown tabby that is R/T/K/N's father whos waving her over with his tail who's name is supposedly Brambleclaw, along with a gray tom and Lionblaze wait for her.
-End of the hunt-
At the end of the hunt, [Y/L/N] found out that gray tom was named Graystripe. She also got to know Lionblaze and she thought he was a decent cat. He seemed to be doing all he can to feel welcome and that comforts her. I still like Jayfeather more, though. Even if he is cranky.
Leafpool was right about prey being scarce in ThunderClan; there definitely wasn't as much to spare than in the old strip of the territory [Y/L/N] lived in. Probably because there are so many cats. She pads back to camp with a pigeon in her jaws, placing it onto the fresh kill pile and doing the same with her squirrel and mouse. Firestar notices [Y/L/N] and gives her an approving glance before saying something to Jayfeather, and he pads over to [Y/L/N]. "I'll show you the medicine cat den now." he meows. "Okay!" [Y/L/N]'s F/C tail shoots up like an excited kit and she follows Jayfeather into a den, where she sees the same cat from before with two back legs that drag across the floor uselessly. "Hi! I'm Briarlight." "Hello, Briarlight." [Y/L/N] purrs kindly. Jayfeather flicks his tail impatiently. "Since we don't have much moss here either, you're going to have to sleep in my nest." He points to a moss nest with his tail big enough to support two or three cats. That must have been made for situations like this. "Okay."
[Y/L/N] notices Briarlight exchanging glances between Jayfeather, [Y/L/N], and a decent moss nest in the corner of the den that clearly was kicked aside, but she says nothing. Jayfeather also notices and glares at Briarlight, before turning back to his herbs.
-Timeskip-
[Y/L/N] had a conversation with Briarlight, who explained why her legs were like that and how she was managing. [Y/L/N] was thoroughly impressed with how well she was handling it. Jayfeather noses his way through the ferns. "Briarlight, have you eaten?" she nodded, though [Y/L/N] saw the uncertainty in her eyes. Before long [Y/L/N] saw warriors heading into their dens and she noticed how dark it's gotten. I think I like it here... [Y/L/N] pads over to Jayfeather's nest and lays down, making sure there's enough room for him. She wraps her tail over her muzzle gently, letting her eyes start to droop. A few minutes later, Jayfeather curls up next to her, startling [Y/L/N] as the nest was pretty big in itself and he could have laid down farther from her. [Y/L/N] lightly pulls away slightly, not wanting to make him uncomfortable. To her surprise he twitches his whiskers, shifting closer to her again. [Y/L/N] doesn't bother moving again and lets sleep wash over her, excited for the next day.
