Chapter Eight – The Warning

Edward's POV

I watched Bella as she slept peacefully in her bed, I didn't know it was going to be this difficult to stay away from her. If I was going to be around her I would do it when she was sleeping, otherwise I knew it would drive me insane to stay completely away from her all together. Bella was my reason for living since the day or actually night I met her in Phoenix. I couldn't help but feel protective over my sleeping angel, she easily attracted danger and all I wanted to do was keep her safe. Bella would remain a little more safer if she didn't know what I am, if the Volturi found out about her she would either have to become a vampire or they would want her dead.

Bella suddenly murmured my name and my eyes snapped up to her face to see she was still asleep, I had the feeling she would be talking in her sleep a lot. I loved to hear that soft voice of hers, I just plainly loved the woman sleeping in front of me. She murmured my name again, but in a seductive tone this time and my thoughts turned very obscene. All I wanted to do was trail my hands slowly across her delicate body, but I wouldn't dare do it without her permission. I was trying to remain a gentleman, but I didn't know if I would be able to control myself if she continued saying my name like that. My eyes lingered on her delicate pink lips for a few seconds, before I looked away again in shame for thinking such vulgar things about her.

Bella literally purred my name out in an alluring manner a few minutes later, which caused my obscene thoughts of Bella to come rushing back into my mind. She probably was having some enchanting dream about me, I was hearing part of it and I thought I was going to lose my mind. Alice was probably having a field day by watching me trying to control myself, if she told the others they would most likely be laughing at my expense as well. Then Bella just happened to moan at the point that I just snapped and lost my self-control, I made my way inhumanely fast over to her bed and got soundlessly on it. I moved so I had my legs on around her slender waist, when she didn't move I slowly stroked her face and smiled when she let out a content sigh. I had the strong urge to nuzzle her neck like I did over a week ago in the woods, but I pushed that thought away because I might actually wake her up. I didn't know how she would react if she saw me on top of her like this, there's the possibility she might scream or she could think she was still dream and kiss me something fierce. I would prefer he to do the second one because right now I wanted her more than anything, more than anything else in the world.

I couldn't stop myself from massaging her inner thighs as I leaned in a little closer to her face, Bella let out a moan as her eyelids fluttered open and I saw her beautiful brown eyes. I immediately froze as I stared down at her face and thought, “Oh crap.” Bella smiled up at me and I mentally sighed in relief, she wrapped her legs around my waist with a smirk and pulled herself closer to me. Then she placed her good hand on the back of my neck and pulled me closer to her for a kiss, our lips began to move in sync instantly and she was more lustful than ever. I pulled away and asked her, “You know you're dreaming this, right?” She sighed, “I know, but can't we still enjoy this.” I responded before enveloping her lips with mine, “Certainly.” She clung onto me as I continued to kiss her heatedly, she let out a moan as she felt my excitement rub against her leg and couldn't help but smirk as I began trailing small butterfly kiss along her elegant neck.

Bella suddenly let out a yawn about ten minutes later and realized she should go back to sleep, so I said, “I think you should get some sleep, Bella.” She responded, “No, I want to continue this with you.” I stated firmly, “Get some sleep Bella, you have school in the morning.” She let out a huff and said, “Fine, I'll go to sleep.” I pressed a kiss to her forehead and said, “Good, I'll see you tomorrow, it would best if we weren't friends.” She rolled her eyes at me and said, “We're past being friends, you know that Edward. I'm in love with you, can't you see that.” I told her, “I do Bella, but it's dangerous for you to know about my kind. I want to keep you safe from my kind, I don't want you to get hurt because I love you too.” Then I disappeared through her window without saying another word, when my feet landed on the ground I took off running home as I kept my mind clear of all thoughts.
