Ten Steps

~Mitch's POV~

"Jerome! Get up please! Run! Scientists are coming!" I begged but Jerome wouldn't budge.

"149, 150, and-" the scientist was cut short when he saw my corpse.

"Guys, look what this monster did to our perfect subject." He yelled pointing an accusing finger.

"Jerome!" I tried to push him it of the way but I just went right through him.

"I know Mitch. You didn't commit suicide, it's okay. I'm not going to weigh you down here anymore. So please Mitch. I love you please except my apology. Rest in peace Mitch."

When he said those thing everything got dark before the sound was blocked out of my ears I heard Jerome whisper something in my dead body.

"#merome lives on."

Then I saw it. The light the beautiful white light begging me to come to it.

On step.

It's been fun.

Two steps.

I'll miss all of you.

Three steps.

I'll never forget the times we spent together.
