"So? You think I can't cook right?" Yi Jie asked again.

Xiao Fei thought.

Then again, if a couple is supposed to spend the rest of their lives together, somethings, it's good to say things as they are.

"Well, your daughter just basically ran from you when you mentioned cooking but I have faith in you. I'm off to shower. What is my estimate time to eat?"

"Fine, 20 minutes. Let me carry you to the bathtub. Do you need me to help?" Yi Jie asked, in his usual teasing tone.

"No. If you do that then Yo Yo and I will starve. I'll manage," Xiao Fei stood up with Yi Jie's help and walked slowly to the bathroom.

It was after Xiao Fei's done with his shower that he smelt something burning. Limping out in his sleeveless tank top and long pajama pants, he walked to the kitchen.

The first thing which hit his nostrils was something burnt.

Worried about bruised pride, Xiao Fei discreetly offered, "Need my help?"

Yi Jie who was busy frying something and shook his head. Then he loads the brown cooked dish on a plate.

"Nope. All done. Smell," Yi Jie chucked Xiao Fei's precious frying pan into the sink. Xiao Fei's heart sank. Then, Yi Jie held up the brown dish to Xiao Fei.

Burnt smell.

"Wow...umm smells very barbecued. Where is Yo Yo? Shall I call her out for dinner?" Xiao Fei asked, about to turb but was stopped.

"Oh, I checked on her. She fell asleep. Threw a tantrum when I tried waking her," Yi Jie said as he set the table and return to guide Xiao Fei to his seat.

Oh my god my own daughter bailed on me, Xiao Fei thought. Well, not that he blames Yo Yo. She must have experienced something from Yi Jie's cooking in the past.

"It's ok then, I'll make her something if she wakes up later. Now you, my wifey, try this. Lovingly made for you by your hubby," Yi Jie sat opposite Xiao Fei and edge the fork with the brown stuff to Xiao Fei's mouth.

Like it or not, Xiao Fei braced himself for what will enter his mouth. It tasted like sausage omelette, slightly burnt but it surprisingly tasted ok.

"It's....nice," Xiao Fei said, at last. Yi Jie smirked.

"I know it's not that amazing by your standards but it's still edible," Yi Jie said proudly and then getting up to get rice for the both of them.

Xiao Fei smiled. Well, as long as he doesn't get stomachache afterwards, everything is good.

Yi Jie and Xiao Fei had a nice simple Yi Jie made dinner before they move on to a little movie time and then to bed (Yo Yo never woke up).

Not that Yi Jie didn't want to jump his Xiao Fei (since he rarely rejects when Yi Jie initiates their intimate times), but watching how Xiao Fei fell immediately asleep the moment he's on bed with a sprained ankle, Yi Jie knew Xiao Fei was tired. He kissed Xiao Fei's forehead before turning off the lights and returned to hugging Xiao Fei until he himself fell asleep.

"Chou Xin Ru, get straight to the point. I don't have much time," Yi Jie said, trying to remain calm in front of the woman he has come to despise.

Yi Jie set to meet his ex-wife the next day so he could settle any issue she has.

Chow Xin Ru is definitely used to the harsh words of Shi Yi Jie.

"Fine. Straight to the point then. I want the full custody of Yo Yo, not only visitation rights," she said. Yi Jie's blood boiled.

"No. The court granted me Yo Yo when you cite your reasons for the divorce," Yi Jie said calmly.

"Look, I just want what's best for our daughter. Like it or not, a child needs a mother while growing," Xin Ru started to reason.

"No, a child needs a family who will care for them and nurture them to grow up. You just want her but you said nothing about caring for her. Plus, do you think I will give her up? Never," Yi Jie said, firm. Xin Ru's startled.

"Look, she's not going to be easy to handle in a few years' time when she grows into a teen so that's when she needs a mother. I just want what's best for her. She is still mine," Xin Ru argued.

"Biologically and on her birth certificate yes but legally and responsibly as a mother, not since you left 5 years ago. Besides her turning into a hormonal teenager is hardly your concern. We got that covered," Yi Jie said.

"What does he knows about being a parent? He is only a boy!" Yi Jie clenched his fists.

"Leave him out of this. It's none of your concern and you can forget about taking Yo Yo away from me. She is mine," Yi Jie reaffirmed.

"Fine, if that's how you want to roll, I'll petition with the court," Xin Ru threatened.

"Whatever, don't you think I didn't hear about your new rich boyfriend. If I were you, I will quickly marry him, have his kids and just leave us alone," Yi Jie said, standing up, taking a piece of 500 yuan bill and slammed in on the table.

"My share of the drink. Please don't bother us again," Yi Jie said and left.

"Shi Yi Jie, I wouldn't let this go. I will get Yo Yo back! She wouldn't be happy in a family with two male parents!" Xin Ru shouted and other patrons stare at her direction.

Yi Jie turned around to face her.

"At least I can guarantee she will not turn into a bitch who shouts in public," Yi Jie said and left.

The last thing he heard was glass breaking. He didn't care. He drove right away.

Reaching his neighborhood park, he saw Yo Yo pushing Xiao Fei on the swing.

That scene makes him more determined to protect both the two important people in his life from Xin Ru.

"Papi!" Yo Yo saw Yi Jie and ran towards him followed by a Xiao Fei slowly limping.

"How did it go?" Xiao Fei asked. Yi Jie smiled. Maybe it's not the time to discuss this matter now.

"Everything is alright. I'll explain later but for now Yo Yo, you decide. Do we go for a movie or we hang out at grandma's?"Yi Jie asked.
