Hearing that there are several others amd that there are 9 of them that exist in this world shocked both Grimelda and Maescia.
"Wait 9?" Maescia asked a bit shock.
The Demon King unaware of their thoughts continued, 《Yes, there should be 9. During the Walpurgis Banquet I met the other Demon Kings that have the Insignias. I just don't know where the others located except for the Acedia and Superbia ones.》
[Maescia, this is a good opportunity If you could get the other insignias it should give you more of a power increase. You should ask him if its possible to absorb mutiple insignias at the same time.]
Doing as Grimelda instructed Maescia asked the Demon King.
《Based on what I know it should be impossible...》The Demon King paused for a bit and saw Maescia's disapointed expression and continued. 《But the Insignia of Tristitia is an exception.》
Hearing that Maescia looked at the Demon King with an expectant expression. Seeing this the Demon King continued his explanation.
《You see among the insignias only the Tristitia Insignia can enable the user to gain multiple ones. The Insignia of Tristita has the to bend the laws of the workd itself and break the chains of fate. I'm not sure if you noticed but that Scythe was created based on your imagination altuough the other ones also possess that power but they are limited to the concept of the insignias, take for example the Acedia Insignia which rules over Death. It can only create a weapon based on what the user views the concept of death as. Unlike the other insignias only the Tristitia Insignia can use other concepts and project then into reality. So in concept it should be possible.》
"So is it really possible? Have there been any instances where someone possessed more than one?" (Maescia)
《Based on what I heard from my predecessor there has been an instant where someone possessed them all at the same time.》
Hearing that there was someone who possessed all 9 of the insignias Maescia was shocked and excited.
"So who was it?" (Maescia)
《You should have heard of him, He was known in history as the 9 Sins Demon Sovereign》
"9 Sins Demon Sovereign !" Hearing this title Maescia exclaimed. This was the title of the supreme ruler of the Demon Race in Ancient times. It was during his time that the Demon Race was most properous even when the Sovereigns of the other races joined forces to eliminate him they were still defeated by him.
There was even one time that 5 Sovereigns ambushed him in an attempt to kill him but he was still able to escape while nearly killing one of them. This further proved his status as the strongest Demon Sovereign throughout history be it the past or the present no one has been able to surpass his achievements.
《Yes the 9 Sins Sovereign was the one who held all 9 of them in the past. According to ancient writtings and what I heard from my predecessor the 9 Insignias were passed down by him to his most trusted subordinates the 9 Demon Generals, who later passed them throughout the generations from their time until to this generation and now it is passed onto you.》
As the Demon King told the story he was full of reverence and respect towards the Sovereign and the 9 Generals who served under him they were the ones who fought for the Demon Race during those times where the other races discriminated against the Demons but after that era although the other races were still discriminating against the Demon Race they still feared them a bit as they were able to produce such experts that ruled a whole generation.
It was said that if the other 6 Sovereigns of that generation didn't have an agreement with the 9 Sins Demon Sovereign. He might have conquered the world. Alas if he did violate the agreement the other 6 Sovereigns would join forces against him and even for him that would be too much. That agreement was still present to this day and it is the reason why the world was this peaceful.
During that year the races would often war against each other lead by Sovereigns and other high ranking experts and during that time the Demon Race was in hiding most of the time till the era of the 9 Sins Demon Sovereign, the first Sovereign that came from the Demon Race. With his incredible might he fought against the other races and forced them into an agreement where Sovereign Class experts weren't allowed to interfere in battles unless another sovereign violated the rule but no one violated it as it would turn the other Sovereigns into enemies.
Due to this agreement the demon race managed to gain sufficient strength and with the help of the Demon Sovereign they were able to produce many experts that turned the tide of battle and without the past advantage of a sovereign leading the enemy they were able to quickly rise and the world finally gained balance where the races have near equal strength that continued till this day and because of this none of the races dare to launch a full scale attack for fear that the others would launch a surprise attack against them while they attack another this lead to only small scale fights between the races.
《Based on what I know someone either created the insignias for the Demon Sovereign or he himself created them as they havent appeared before the Demon Sovereign's generation.》
Hearing this Grimelda thought of something and have Maescia ask the Demon King to confirm it.
"Ancestor do you know any stories of the Sovereign during his earlier days? Given his strength there should be some tales of his achievements during his youth."
《Based on what I know there arent any tales. The Sovereign wasnt well known and nothing can be found about him except when he became a Sovereign even his Generals didn't know of his origins based on what the Forefather of our lineage left behind.》
When Grimelda heard that It further confirmed her suspicions.
